Pinkie was almost late for class, today. She'd been side-tracked by trying to sing morals into a pack of rampaging mutated alots. Amazingly, they'd actually enjoyed her song and dance routines less than the buffalo had, but Pinkie had made it out unscathed, in a way that only Pinkie ever could.

She'd hoped the alots would explain why her Pinkie sense had been going wild for two days -- knee jerks, ear flops, tail twithes, eye flutters, shoulder aches, the works, but most of all, the persistent shudder -- but it kept right at it even as she watched the students come in and take their seats. Why, she was shuddering so much now that she was visibly vibrating up off the floor.

Whatever this was, it was going to be a major doozy.

"We-e-e-elcome cla-a-a-a-ass," she greeted. "Toda-a-a-a-ay we're going to ta-a-a-a-alk about pa-a-a-arty mu-u-u-usic! So-o-o-o-o let's get da-a-a-a-a-ancing!"

Pinkie had been thinking of doing another dance number, but even she realized this would be problematic when she sounded like she was talking into a fan, so she just went over to the turntables in the corner -- of course those were always there, what do you mean you didn't notice them? -- and started them up.

"We'll a-a-a-a-a-all ta-a-a-ake tu-u-u-u-urns spi-i-i-i-inning tra-a-a-a-a-cks. Wo-o-o-o-on't that be fu-u-u-u-un?"

There was something deeply disturbing about a seemingly ill talking pink pony, so Richie was very intently going through the albums looking for something he recognized. For some reason he kept picking up Queen albums. Well, "Another One Bites The Dust" had a good beat at least, right?

It took Jim a little bit of time to find some music that he liked, considering he had no idea what in the world any of this modern stuff was supposed to be, but after a bit of poking around he managed to find something that sounded comfortably like the music they played back on Montressor, though tweaked somehow, just enough to keep it interesting.

Look, on Montressor, this was alternative.

Kenzi had Dessa and the Jezabels playing. Although she was also watching Pinkie with wide-eyed worry out the corner of her eye.

"So, uh. How you doing there, Pinkie?" Kenzi was wondering if pink ponies got seizures.

"I'm gre-e-e-e-e-eat," Pinkie responded, as her eye twitched and her ear ached and her knee popped and that wasn't even how it was supposed to work! She was practically rattling up off the ground now. "Bu-u-u-u-ut my Pinkie sense is going cra-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-azy-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y!"

"Ohhh crap." Kenzi would have made fun of this. She'd like to make fun of this, but. They'd already been through that while they were all ponies. And okay, there'd been room for error about the rainbow sonic boom. But she couldn't forget the sight of a deer tearing apart a gremlin with its teeth. "Um. Which direction is it coming from? Are you gonna be okay?"

The shuddering settled for a moment, and Pinkie looked thoughtful. "I think it's the forest. Whatever it is, it's a doozier doozy than the dooziest doozy that ever doozed before!"

"There was a gremlin-eating deer out there," Kenzi said, now wondering if maybe, uh. There was more than one? "The gremlin got away but it was real close and what do you *do* when you're having a Pinkie Sense attack!?"

"Watch out, mostly," said Pinkie. She shuddered again. "And run away from hydras."

Okay, so that was that one time, but it counted, right?

"That sounds like the Everfree Forest! That's where nature runs amuck without any pony influence at all. You never know what you'll find there! It's chaos!"

"Hydras, got it." Kenzi paused, thinking of that, and what she'd seen out her window this morning. "Um. Someone's gonna go deal with the chaos, right? Right?" Someone not her?

"Back in Ponyville, we're more live and let live. If the Ursa Major doesn't come attack us, we're not going to go bother it."

"Ursa Major? Dude, the stars attack?" What?

"Giant glowy blue or purple translucent bear. They can be vicious."

"...your world is special, Pinkie," Kenzi decided, kind of wishing she could visit. "But, point taken. Not gonna attack creeping ick from the forest. Just gonna hide in the dorm for the rest of the day." Or maybe week?

"That's probably the best idea, unless you know kung fu or have lots of magic! Or they have a sense of humor."

"Make 'em laugh to make 'em leave you alone?" Kenzi considered. "Yeah, I'm staying inside."
