Try Not to Die!!!! [Tuesday, August 2]

Anakin had taken two steps across the causeway toward the new town and all of the hair on the back of his neck had stood up. He had a definite bad feeling about the place that was entirely separate from the feeling of general unease that he'd woken up with.

He hoped he wasn't coming down with something--he was hardly ever sick and because of that made for one rotten patient.

He contacted his students to let them know to ]meet him at the Danger Shop this morning, which had been programmed to look like the Coruscant he'd spent his teenage and young adult years on: Tahiri would recognize some of the changes, but for the most part Coruscant was an enormous, bustling city that covered an entire planet.

"Welcome to Coruscant, the capital planet of my galaxy," Anakin said, projecting his voice to be heard over the noise of the streets as thousands of aliens jostled past the students. "It's the home to billions of different beings, and you'll hear hundreds of different languages as you race around today. Try not to die--it'll be extremely difficult to find you here and dying upsets the Danger Shop programming."

Or wasn't allowed by the programming, but Anakin wasn't going to mention that.

He scratched idly at his arm, then stepped away from the clue box.

Cara had eaten worse.

She'd also eaten better, but she wasn't going to focus on that as she mechanically ate.

This... was so not happening. Despite her best efforts, Mercy just couldn't manage to get these down. After her second dash to the bathroom she began just trying to wash them down with huge gulps of water and using her napkin judiciously when she couldn't manage that.

Finally she managed to 'finish' the last of them, looking rather green, and got the clue from Dex.

There was no way Mercy was going to make money doing anything at this point since she didn't think people were willing to pay to watch her hurl. That left climbing the Temple steps.

She made it to the top, gasped out 547, lost her lunch at the feet of the Jedi there, and after much apologizing and cleaning up, managed to head out to find Anakin.

Mercy, well, staggered was too strong a word (though not by much!), made her way over to Anakin, and lost the rest of her lunch not quite on his shoes. "Sorry," she said miserably. "Something didn't agree with me."

She didn't care what place she'd come in, all she really wanted to do was find a corner somewhere so she could curl up and die - name of the class notwithstanding.

Being ordered to count every single step in a temple (including the dungeons) was considered a legitimate way to make trainee Mord'Sith burn off excess energy, so climbing just the one tower was relatively straightforward in comparison.

Even if Cara thought this task should have been before making them gorge themselves.

Cara didn't look particularly put out when she arrived, despite having climbed several hundred while wearing skin-tight leather with a vague yet growing sensation of nausea.

She had skills like that.

Come on, really? Jim's mother made even less palatable dishes back at the Benbow Inn for some of their less humanoid patrons, and growing up with a single parent trying to run a business on her own meant that he ate whatever was put in front of him.

Actually, the sliders weren't so bad after a few bites. They weren't trying to get away from him as he ate them, which won them serious bonus points in Jim's book.

Annie's immediate thought was Ugh whyyyyy. She couldn't eat that much even before she lost all that weight and she was really worried about the word 'sulfurous' in the name.

It took her a while to shovel them down, and she hoped she could make up her time on the next thing.

Jim should have taken the other option. He really, really should have. He was still pretty full after his meal, and full meant lethargic, which was way better for lazy climbing and simple counting than it was for, say, being entertaining. At least, if you were Jim.

Jim was not a singer. Or a dancer. Or a performance artist of any kind. So he just kind of sat around and whistled, terribly, until people started to pay him to shut up. By the time that particular trend caught on, however, Jim was lagging way too far behind the rest of the class for comfort.

Jim didn't look too nauseous as he reported back to Anakin after his horrible attempt at street performing. If anything, he mostly just looked mortified. Way less of a big deal, right?

"Good food," he mumbled, because if Anakin was going to feed him, the least he could do was be polite about it. Ish.
