Western LIterature and Poetry, Open Classroom for Sunday

Professor Chaucer is available all day on Sunday to meet with any students and parents/guardians/significant others who would like to stop in.

Paige walks in closely followed by Penny Halliwell, she smiles when she sees Geoff

"Grams this is Geoff Chaucer ~~the love of my life~~ my english professor."

Geoff stands and offers his hand to Ms. Halliwell. "A pleasure to meet you, madam." He gives Paige a quick smile. "Paige has told me how excited she's been that you've come to visit."

Grams looked Geoff over. "Yes, and I've been looking forward to meeting her friends as well. Tell me about yourself, Mr. Chaucer."

"As you wish, madam. I teach the western literature and poetry classes here at Fandom High, and I operate a small business in town as well." He gives her a charming smile. "Paige is enrolled in both my classes."

Paige watches them looking terribly nervous well I'm not flunking yet, which is good and I'm sure Grams will like him she tries to tell herself

"And do you often have relationships with your students, Mr. Chaucer?" Grams said bluntly.

"he wasn't teaching when we first met Grams" Paige says quickly trying to defend him

"No, madam, I do not. I've only started teaching this last week. As Paige says, she wasn't my student at the time."

"I'm sorry" she mouths to him looking rather uncomfortable

Looking uncomfortable as well, but doing a fairly good job of hiding it, Geoff shakes his head slightly and gives Paige a small reassuring smile.

"Paige is young and I am very protective," Grams said. "Tell me exactly why I should trust you with her welfare."

Geoff looks the woman in eye. "Because I consider myself to be an honorable man, madam, and because I care a great deal about your granddaughter and can promise that I will do my best to be certain she remains safe."

Grams nodded. "I expect nothing but the best for my girls. If anyone should hurt one of them...well, hell hath no fury like an angry Halliwell woman." She smiled at Geoff.

Geoff smiles in return. "No, madam, having met several of the Halliwell women, I would imagine not."

Paige looks from Geoff to Penny "Grams he always did his best for me, he was very protective, you really don't need to worry about any of that,"

This really wasn't going as Paige had hoped

"It's all right, Paige. Your grandmother has every right to be concerned about you." He nods toward Penny and smiles again. "But I think we understand each other."

"Don't fret, dear," Grams said to Paige. "I'm just making sure, as Mr. Chaucer said, that we understand each other. And I'm certain we do."

Paige nods slowly "I-I won't I just don't want you thinking badly of him" she says

Paige is suddenly very glad Grams wasn't going to meet Sawyer

Geoff offers his hand again. "Yes, madam, we do."

Grams reached out to take Geoff's hand and shook it. "Good. My granddaughter is a very special girl. She deserves to be treated the same."

She looked over to Paige. "I have no reason to think badly of him now, and I'm sure he won't give me any."

He bows politely over Grams' hand. "Yes, she does."

Smiling at both women, he adds, "I hope you're enjoying your visit, madam."

Paige smiles "no I'm sure he'd never hurt me. Would be ok if I spoke to Geoff alone for a moment? Then maybe we can go look for Phebes and Piper?"

"Certainly, my dear. I was hoping to get all three of you together at once before I go. I'll wait outside for you."

"It was a pleasure meeting you, Ms. Halliwell."

"Thanks Grams I won't be long, I'd like us all to get together too, like a real family!" she says smiling.

Once Grams has left she turns to Geoff, "You said you wanted to meet her right?" she asks looking a little worried still

"Yes, Paige, and I'm glad I did. She seems like a very competent, forthright woman. I can't say how she feels about me, but I like her."

Paige smiles "I'm glad I was worried maybe she'd totally scare you away, although I do know how brave you are, b-" she manages to stop herself before she calls him baby

"She told me something yesterday about what I am that might explain something to you. You know how I was always a little well over protective of you? Well I found out it's because I'm part whitelight, it's like my purpose in life to protect others I guess. I just wanted you to know that."

"Thank you, Paige. I'm sorry if I ever made you feel as though I resented you're desire to protect me. I never meant to make you feel that way." He looks toward the hallway where Penny had gone. "I'm glad she came to see you. You deserve to have your family with you, and to know that they love you."

"It's not that just wanted to explain why I did it, just so you knew and I'm glad she came too, it's bought me closer to my sisters as well, she's told us a few things that have been pretty helpful."

She takes a deep breath "I just wanted to make sure everything was still ok between us, we're still going for coffee right?" she added hopefully.

Geoff smiles and nods. "Yes, maybe sometime later in the week, when things have quieted down?"

Paige nods "yeah that sounds good, I should probably go with Grams to find my sisters. I'll catch you later ok?"

"Okay. Have a good time visiting with your family."

She smiles "thank you, I'm sure I will" she replies before heading out to find Penny
