Today the Danger Shop was set up to resemble the library, though with a complete lack of librarian or library aides. Oz sat reading at the main desk with his feet up as he waited for the last of the students to file in. Once said last student had arrived, he spoke up.

"Detention. All of you." After pausing just long enough for that to sink in and get a reaction, he stood up and continued. "That's today's assignment. You see, it's easy enough to form enduring bonds of friendship and team spirit during times of adversity and life-threatening danger, but it's harder you're just shoved in a room together with nothing to do. Hence, detention."

"What I want you to spend this class doing, is to sit at the library desks, and to stay there and write essays about who you are, while I read in the office. I don't you to move, I don't want you to talk, or move, or argue, or bond over the various reasons you're in detention which are in envelopes next to your blank essays, or go on a wacky adventure to steal leftover cupcakes from the last class, or anything like that." Oz completely wanted them to do these things, he just didn't want them to get caught. "Got it?"

When the students were all seated, Oz picked up his magazine and headed towards the simulated librarian's office. "Remember, shutty," he said as he closed the door.

Topher Brink - Don't think we don't know who tipped us off about Tony trying to hack the pentagon. Stoolie.

Remember no shenanigans! None at all! Bonding is simply verboten!

Somewhere in this simulation is a room full of delicious cupcakes.

Naturally none of you will attempt to steal any.

Since none of you went off stealing cupcakes, you have no need to return and write them or anything.

Or to get up to any more antics.

Of course that might be hard when you're not allowed to talk...

Topher looked at his reason for being in detention. Then, instead of writing an essay, he drew a rough picture of a pentagon with a (surprisingly accurate) likeness of Tony in one of the windows.

Underneath it, he wrote I REGRET NOTHING.

That should settle that.

Peter wrote his 'who I am' essay in ten minutes - just a lot of quaint crap about wanting to go into politics one day and caring about the needs of the 9-to-5s and extra-curriculars and world peace, really.

Then he grabbed a second sheet of paper and started drafting up Sunday's new Locke essay about the looming credit exchange crisis and why the United States should really consider supporting the New Warsaw Pact's attempts to restructure their debt, because that would be a real show of solidarity in the face of recent short-sighted allegations...

Peter kind of failed at bonding.

A piece of paper whizzed through the air in the direction of Peter's desk. It was the very same piece of paper on which Topher had drawn a stick figure of Tony in the Pentagon. Don't ask why. He just did.

On the back, he'd written "Hi."

The paper bounced off of Peter's arm. Peter eyed it for a second.

Then he looked up.

The look he gave Topher clearly read Seriously?!

Topher snorted with laughter after a failed attempt to keep a straight face. Obviously, he was feeling very mature today.

Ohhh, yeah, Peter was planting those bodice rippers he and Emma picked out in Topher's room sometime soon.

Peter shook his head. Really, Topher. So very disappointed.

NO. ANYTHING BUT THAT. NOT THE BODICE RIPPERS!

An idea occured to him, and Topher held up one finger before quickly scrawling something on another piece of paper and throwing it at Peter's head.

This one had a cartoon picture of an explosive on it. Underneath it, in messy handwriting, it said "No explosives today." Next to a little frowny face.

Emma had a terribly attractively diabolical mind when it came to 'picking scarring porn'. Just sayin'.

Peter sighed and peeled the piece of paper off the back of his head. Clearly, he was going to have to find a way to get Topher in trouble right now, or he'd never stop. He gave the paper a thoughtful look.

But there are cupcakes, he wrote down (in a different type of handwriting than his own), folded the paper into a makeshift airplane, and tossed it back as soon as he was sure noboy was watching.

Oooh! What a great idea! After opening it, Topher eagerly scrambled to write a response, then held it up so Peter could see.

LET'S GO GET SOME!

Then he flashed Peter an enormous, excited grin.

WORST MINION EVER.

Peter adopted an appropriately worried expression, and shook his head.

Sure, it galled him a little to pretend to be scared of a teacher, but...

Topher just nodded eagerly. He even double-underlined the word "Let's" for extra emphasis.

Peter shook his head again, then took his own sheet of paper and wrote down, again in a different handwriting, I won't risk it. And you can't do it alone. Maybe someone like Tony can grab us a few extras.

Again, he didn't toss that towards Topher until he was absolutely sure nobody was watching.

Topher scowled and got to work drawing an enormous cupcake. Next to it was a little stick-figure Peter with a big smile on his face.

He held it up and waved it in the air.

Someone lacked subtlety. And self-preservation.

Ohhhh, yeah.

Which was why Peter was ignoring him, now. Calculatedly.

Come on, Topher. Take the bait.

Oh, please. Topher could get a reaction out of ANYONE.

Or so he thought.

He proceeded to pelt Peter with crumpled-up sheets of paper.
