Today the Danger Shop was set up to resemble the library, though with a complete lack of librarian or library aides. Oz sat reading at the main desk with his feet up as he waited for the last of the students to file in. Once said last student had arrived, he spoke up.

"Detention. All of you." After pausing just long enough for that to sink in and get a reaction, he stood up and continued. "That's today's assignment. You see, it's easy enough to form enduring bonds of friendship and team spirit during times of adversity and life-threatening danger, but it's harder you're just shoved in a room together with nothing to do. Hence, detention."

"What I want you to spend this class doing, is to sit at the library desks, and to stay there and write essays about who you are, while I read in the office. I don't you to move, I don't want you to talk, or move, or argue, or bond over the various reasons you're in detention which are in envelopes next to your blank essays, or go on a wacky adventure to steal leftover cupcakes from the last class, or anything like that." Oz completely wanted them to do these things, he just didn't want them to get caught. "Got it?"

When the students were all seated, Oz picked up his magazine and headed towards the simulated librarian's office. "Remember, shutty," he said as he closed the door.

Oh, for that, Peter was swinging by Emma's shift again next week to purchase some sex toys to leave around Topher's room.

He pulled all of his self-respect together, and sent an expectant look towards Tony. He could save them from cupcakelessness. Really, Topher! Tony would be our cupcake-savior.

Unless you thought you were better than Tony...?

Topher's jaw dropped and he gaped at Peter in horror, his expression clearly demanding, What are you looking at him for?!

Poor, naive Topher. Make that poor, naive, twitching and crying Topher when the sex toys made their way into his room.

Yeah, well, it's life. Dem's the breaks if you mess with Peter Wiggin, Topher.

Peter shrugged his shoulders. Well. You know. Getting cupcakes was a hard-knock life that not everybody was made for.

Billy couldn't not do the assignment, even though he knew the essays weren't really the point, because writing about why he needed an army of zombie penguins was far too entertaining. In his defense, it really ended up as more of a list than an essay.

Frowning, Topher reached into his backpack and extracted a bag of Doritos. He held it up and tilted his head in Peter's direction, his expression offering, Want some?

Because while the idea of going to get the cupcakes was a little daunting, he was still a minion and wanted to impress Peter somehow.

Not dirty.

Peter sighed. It was a sigh of ennui and disappointment and understanding, really, Topher.

Maybe a little.

Assuming that Peter must have just missed the offer, Topher did him the favor of throwing the Doritos at his head.

Why did he have such stupid minions? Honestly, Peter wondered if he was cursed. He definitely hoped the new girl he'd set his sights on was a little smarter.

Why couldn't Emma be his age? Sigh.

Discretely, Peter jotted I despair of you on a sheet of paper, and held it up.

Hey! Topher wasn't stupid! He was a genius!

Just, you know, not a particularly smart one.

He shrugged, then pointed longingly at the Doritos. If Peter wasn't going to eat them, he wanted them back.

Peter took a Dorito and ate it.

That's what you get, Topher.

Annie Edison

As if the thought of detention wasn't enough to give Annie anxiety, when she looked to see her reason for being here, there might have been a "SERIOUSLY?" that probably would just get her a second fake detention.

But -- but -- but those were Cool Ranch. DAMNIT, PETER.

Frustrated, Topher stood up and set off on a quest for cupcakes. He returned five minutes later with two enormous cupcakes that were shaped like hearts and shoved one of them at Peter.

...The hearts were all he could find.

Squall Leonhart

Squall's eyes narrowed when he saw his supposed reason for detention.

(This is stupid.)

Clearly, they were supposed to disobey the class instructions and bond while getting into trouble. But that required disobeying the class instructions, so what kind of lesson was it teaching?

So, he wrote an essay about himself -- although, since the length hadn't been specified in the instructions, it was less an "essay" and more a "sentence".

Let Oz deal with that how he would.

With the purported assignment done, he leaned back in his chair and stared at the ceiling. Someone else could start the wacky hijinks.

Tony Stark

Tony frowned at his 'crime'.

"I wouldn't try," he muttered sulkily. "I'd just do it."

His 'essay' might have been an overly detailed thesis on how he'd manage it without anyone like Topher catching him, thank you.

Tony was just going to glare at Topher for fake catching him. Glare at him until he could feel all that disdain.

Feel it, Topher!

Topher felt the disdain, all right. He looked up and held up his beautiful drawing for Tony to marvel at. Becuase it was beautiful.

...Topher attempted to steal some. But it was totally Peter's fault, and thus he could not be blamed for stealing two huge heart-shaped cupcakes from the cupcake room.

Tony leaned over to try and see what her crime was. Because that wasn't rude or anything.

Really.

"What'd you get?" he whispered.
