Philosophy Classroom, PW office hours, Sunday 1-4pm

Tara Maclay is in her office (well, okay, at her desk in the classroom. Who needs a separate office?) should parents wish to speak to her this afternoon.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Ms Maclay," Maria says, holding her hand out, "I've been looking forward to meeting you all weekend. I'm Maria Broots, JC's mother. This is my husband Robert and our daughter Camilla."

"When we heard Jack was taking Philosophy, we knew we had to meet you. When he told my wife he was enjoying it, we knew we had to thank you. Jack spends so much time on that computer of his, and with him being able to choose his own classes, we were almost certain he'd pick up nothing but science classes. Your class must be pretty special for Jack to break with his strongest subjects for it." Robert explains, "So how is Jack, is he making friends around here. We of course know all about how close he and that lovely Ms. Parker are (they met at an internship previously, very exclusive)," Robert drops his voice at the last, like it were some secret, "But we're concerned about other friends and activities. Seeing as your class is a brand new subject for him, I thought you'd be the person to notice."

"Oh that's perfect, just what JC needs. He's a bit shy so I'll bet such a small class really appeals to him. He told me it's a very nice class. I was worried he wouldn't fit in here, I'm gladd that's not the case. And yes, not quite a comedian, but he's so witty," Maria is clearly thrilled, "Ms. Parker was telling us about his assistance in her bid for Student Council, I was wondering if you'd seen or heard of him doing anything else like that?"

"Well, you must run quite the class to keep his interest. Usually if it has nothing to do with software or microchips he's bored silly," RObert tells her, "So, what exactly is the class about?"
