Criminal Justice Open Classroom, Saturday

The Tick is at his desk, ready to greet any parent, sibling, guardian, cousin, uncle, aunt, grandparent, employer, mentor, pet, or anybody else who could roughly be defined as "family" of his students. He is wearing a tie. The Tick recognizes that he looks a little different from the other teachers around here, so he bought what he will assure anyone is a hypnotic tie that makes people ignore the fact that he is a very large man in blue tights with antennae sticking out of his head.

For the record, the tie is not actually hypnotic.

"Students! Parents and/or other assorted family of students! I welcome you to Criminal Justice! I am Professor Tick, and I teach!"

[OOC: Massive apologies to anyone attempting to interact with me in here. SBC chose today to have issues all over the area. I will be here all day, though, unless Tick sees something really shiny.]

"Just a vagrant I picked up. My good deed for the day," Jaye shrugs.

"Hello, kindly vagrant!" Tick says to Sharon. "How are you enjoying your stay inside these warm halls of academia?"

Jaye snickers, and sits on top of a desk.

Sharon rolls her eyes. "Ignore her. I'm her sister, and that's Jaye's way of distancing herself from the fact that we share genes. Sharon Tyler, nice to meet you. So you're Jaye's...Criminal Justice teacher?"

Sharon eyes Jaye speculatively. "This isn't your method of finding ways around the laws, is it?"

Sharon suddenly realizes there's something distinctly odd about Jaye's "teacher." "Um. It's wonderful to see people with alternative lifestyles (http://www.livejournal.com/users/fates_jaye/1524.html?thread=40948#t40948) so, so open about it. Just...how does the school deal with...uh, parental disapproval?"

"Hey, I'm just here to learn about nifty keen justice," Jaye says, swinging her legs. Occasionally her foot will hit one of the legs of the desk just to see what reaction it gets.

Sharon winces. She grabs Jaye's arm and whispers, "Jaye, why is your teacher wearing his rubber suit to Parent Weekend? Please tell me this isn't actually a sex-slave ring! If you need help, say 'I have a craving for mashed potatoes and gravy.'"

Jaye laughs. "Not that I'm about to think about my teacher in any kind of sex-slave ring, but chill. It's just his thing. Let him go with it. He's got a tie," she says, and raises her voice. "Hey, Mr. The Tick, tell her how I'm doing in class."

"Sure thing! Jaye is doing great in class. Her knowledge of the justice system is both refreshing and baffling, but it is great indeed!"

Sharon smirks. "Yes, we all know about Jaye's...interest in the justice system. One might even say she was sent here specifically for that reason!"

"She thinks I'm a delinquent," Jaye whispers loudly to The Tick.

Sharon gives Mr. The Tick an apologetic look. "She might also be delusional."

Jaye opens her mouth to say something.

*shakes its head*

Jaye closes her mouth and shrugs.

"Oh, there's nothing wrong with being delusional. People tell me that I am all the time!"

[OOC: So sorry. I'm going to kill SBC tonight. I don't know who he is, but I'm going to find him and kick him in the spleen.]

Sharon nods to Mr. The Tick. "It was very nice to meet you. So glad Jaye's taking an interest in something."

"It was nice to meet you, too. It's nice to meet the family of a student so devoted to Justice that she attends class even though she isn't enrolled in it!"

"Oh, I'm chilled. Very. Chilled." She turns to address um, Mr. The Tick.

"Hello, Sharon! It's a pleasure to meet you! Jaye has been an excellent participant in my class. She really brings a fresh spin to all of our discussions!"

Tick had no clue what Sharon was talking about with the lifestyles thing. "All lifestyles are welcome here. Deathstyles, too, technically." Tick smiled as he pondered that.

"I'm really not sure about parental disapproval. I imagine you'd have to take it up with Dean Bristow or Professor Spider Jerusalem."

Sharon helplessly raises an eyebrow and decides to think of this weekend as some sort of mass hallucination. Brigadoon has nothing on this place.
