Attitude: Just Deal With It - Tuesday, Period 2
"Yo, Rookies!" Reno grinned as he leaned back against his desk, arms crossed over his chest. "Today I was gonna talk about kickass jobs. You know, the kind that people do a double-take about and get real interested in. Move star, race car driver, helicopter pilot, secret service agent... Not that you'd be talkin' much about bein' that last one if you were, yo."
And not that Reno was at all biased about it, either. One glance at the black suit he always wore was probably indicator enough of that.
"But then I realized, shit, we can't all be movie stars. There are some pretty serious roles out there, an' some of us even have trouble puttin' up a middle finger and spittin' out a swear word, yo." And if he was giving an amused look at certain individuals around the room at that, what of it? "So I got to thinkin' a bit harder. Everyone had somethin' they wanted to be when they were kids, right? Firefighters, nurses, ballerinas, whatever? An' not everybody is gonna grow up to be those things. Sucks, but it's true, yo."
He grinned as he shifted back to sit on the top of his desk. "But that don't mean that wherever you end up has gotta suck, either. This class is about attitude, Rookies, and so's the rest of your life. What did you guys wanna be when you grew up? What do you wanna be now? How are you gonna get there? Or, if you already are there, how are you gonna make it as awesome as those fantasies you had as a little kid of flyin' around with a cape, bringin' power to the people with your lightning hands before beatin' up monsters and signin' autographs for millions of screamin' fans?"
Not that Reno, as a small child, had ever had such fantasies. Shut up.

Discussion!
Now that you're no longer knee-high to a chicobo, what do you figure you're going to be when you grow up? Or are you already there, doing it when you aren't here on the island?
Now, how do you intend to take where you're going to be, and make it every bit as awesome as that dream that you had as a kid? Nobody is going to do it for you, so this one's up to you, guys. Feel free to throw suggestions at one another, too, if things like, "I'm probably going to be a janitor" don't quite measure up to the excitement that "I wanted to be a lion tamer" presents.

Talk to Reno!
It's close enough.
[Extreme slowplay today, though. It's still week of crazy.]
OOC!
I'm going to be seeing the world in greyscale hands-and-feet shapes for the rest of the month.
