"I'd like to start this week by thanking Mr. Stark for running the class while I was...indisposed," Steve said. 'Indisposed' was, of course, code for 'a turkey.' "But now that I'm back, we'd better get back to it, hadn't we?" Yeah, he wasn't one for build-up, this one. PEEP!

Activity Time!

Someone--not Steve, he'd been a turkey--had handwavily constructed a tall wooden wall off to one side of the clearing. "This," Steve said, "is a rappelling wall. Your mission today: climb one side of it, using the handholds attached, and rappel down the other side." Steve explained how this worked, handed out harnesses, and first demonstrated how to put on the harness before checking to make sure the students had done it correctly. Putting your harness on wrong would be bad.

Very cool and very easy. There were tons of great mountains for climbing where she was from, so this was not a problem at all!

Now this was going to make his busted up elbows hurt but Sam was going to do it anyway. He wasn't that bulked up and strong but he managed to make it up the wall and got down the other side in a decent amount of time and with minimal throbbing in his elbows.

Rappelling! Oh boy! Considering how many times Butters had to randomly climb up and down the mountains of Colorado for one reason or another, he was quite pleased to get a chance to show off some of his skills.

And, of course, a great deal of his rappelling was done with a lot of "Wheeee!"s.

Squall went up and over the wall with the skill and grace of someone who'd done this sort of thing many times before.
