Try Not to Die!! [Tuesday, May 31]

Anakin realized that he was teaching a class called "Try Not to Die" but this morning he wasn't feeling either the exclamation points or the need to put the students into even slightly dangerous situations.

Blame three days of watching the Hunger Games for that. He sent out handwavy messages for the students to meet him at the Danger Shop instead of on the causeway, and the environment that greeted the students was decidedly...chocolatey. The sun was shining brightly overhead, complete with the sorts of fluffy clouds you only found in movies or children's drawings.

"Welcome to my version of a land made of candy," he said. "Try not to get to distracted by how everything is edible--you still have several tasks to complete." With that, he gestured toward the clue box and stepped out of the way.

Cassidy spent a lot more time being amazed about how beautiful the chocolates were before she even started on tasting them. She would probably be here for a little while.

Sam really wanted to do better than he had last week. Chocolate wasn't really his favorite thing in the world to eat but he figured it was better than being presented with meat so he took a few bites, savored it and was able to match up the truffles to the flavors pretty quick.

Honestly, he could have done without that wasabi truffle. His mouth was still burning as he took his clue.

Warren's head wasn't entirely in the game today, but sorting out expensive, super fancy truffles wasn't exactly something beyond his comprehension.

And besides, the pineapple one was easy. If spicy. He was in an out pretty quickly, after making a few faces at the wasabi one.

Kate had eaten this much chocolate... well, never. The stuff was damn expensive and extremely rare back home. Giant trays, at least for her, had been the things of dreams, not reality.

It was only to be expected that she was a little slower on this part than some of the other tasks.

Oooh, chocolate! Angelica loved chocolate and zipped through the roadblock, tempting as it was to linger.

While she didn't hate it, Cara wasn't much for chocolate even when you weren't sticking things in it. Especially things she didn't recognise.

So it took her a while to guess which flavours were which.

Chocolate wasn't new to Toby, but most of those flavours? Not usually found in the kind of chocolate you could shoplift get at the corner store. So yeah, it took him a while to figure out some of the flavours.

Gabrielle's taste buds were working today (she hadn't had to employ any seasickness-reducing pressure points with unfortunate taste-related side effects, after all), which was something to be said for the day, even though she was fairly miserable otherwise.

That said, she wasn't terribly familiar with all of the flavors, and less enthusiastic than usual about enjoying food, so it took her a while to match all the flavors.

Upon receiving her clue, she thanked the woman behind the counter rather more profusely than might be called for.

Already, Alexander's stomach was getting ready to protest this activity today, and it just about revolted once he saw the tray of chocolates. His hand warily covering it before it decided to make noise about it, he sucked in a breath. Last week, he'd gotten dangerously close to the last position, and sometimes, you just had to do what you had to do.

He closed his eyes, and tried to see if he could match them without having to start eating them. He knew he couldn't handle eating too much chocolate, so perhaps luck would be on his side...

And maybe at least try one or two. He could handle one or two.

Lindsay thought this was going to be an easy task, but the obscure flavors proved to be difficult to match. The task ended up taking much longer than she had planned.

Surreal was, quite possibly, driving the poor woman behind the counter quite mad with her questions, but answering "What does a pineapple taste like?" with "Pineapple" was not helpful. If she had known what a pineapple tasted like, she would not have needed to ask.

This was going to take forever.

Goose was technically not supposed to eat chocolate but he figured for an assignment it wouldn't hurt ...it might take him a while to get through this.

There were two things working in Annie's favor on this one. First, she used to have a bit of a weight problem and now tried not to overindulge because she kind of liked the way she looked now and didn't want to ruin it, but if it was for class, well, then it was okay, right? Second... well, Abed would have a chart for it someday.

She had only minimal trouble with this one, and then it was off to the next one.

Eating candy sounded like a pretty great class assignment to Richie. Better than running around in the pouring rain in creepy Tokyo like last week, for sure.

Unfortunately Richie did not have the most developed palate out there and it took a while to identify all the truffle flavors. Or maybe he was dragging it out as an excuse to eat more fancy chocolates. The latter is what he'd tell people who asked. The former was much closer to the truth. In any case, it took him a while to get the chocolates matched up correctly.

One would think that harassing Vince for plain food over the last couple of years that Jack didn't have a discriminating palate.

He spat out the first one into his napkin much to the horror of the woman behind the counter. "Pineapple and HOT habenero?"

The next few ones went fairly quickly with trial an error and error and finally getting them all done in record time.

"I'm out of here!" Jack shouted as he dashed out of the storefront.
