Wimps. "Today, I'm hopin' you don't have so much of a problem with. Today, we're gonna talk about how the clothes make the man. Or the woman. Or the gender ambiguous whatever, this is Fandom, after all."

Well. It was true.

"I want you guys to look at your clothes. Now, back at me. Now, back at your clothes. Now-- Aw, shit. You get the idea, yo. Sadly, I don't think most of you figure wearin' a suit around all day is really a sensible fashion choice. Hell, given how hot it is around here, I can even see where you're comin' from, yo." And Reno was a redhead. It was a wonder that he didn't pass out, wearing these black suits of his around the island. "But that don't mean that you can't stand to improve on what you got, at least a little. T-shirts and jeans are fine for just bummin' around in. Hell, if your goal in life is to just be comfortable and do that bummin', that works out great, don't it? But if you're lookin' to impress, you gotta put a bit more effort into it than that, yo."

"So, today, we're gonna get you guys to sit down and talk about the kinda person you want people to see you as. Do you wanna go for the well-tailored look, so people look up to you an' respect you? Do you wanna go for unapproachable? How about too-damn-cool to care? There are looks for all of that, Rookies, and you'll find that dressin' like what you wanna be is a helpful step in helpin' you act it, down the road."

No, really. Look at Reno's suit. Now look at you. Now look at Reno's suit...

...what was wrong with suits? Okay, sure, most of William's were hand-me-downs and not, like, custom tailored or anything. But he was far more comfortable in them than the jeans and t-shirts Ariel had made him buy.

Seifer just sat in the back of class, facepalming. Repeatedly.

What kind of image are you hoping for, by the end of this workshop? How do you want people to see you? And, of course, what in the world are you and aren't you willing to wear out in public?

If your answer is something like this, you're on the right track. If it's something more like this, Reno is going to laugh at you and tell you to start over. Very thoroughly over.

Reno has ~~handwavily~~ provided magazines for you guys to poke through, to help you choose the wardrobe of your dreams. Or your aspirations. You know. If you have aspirations.

"Well-tailored and professional would be the right choice," Peter said, as he leafed through several magazines.

He'd need some good suits when he was Hegemon, after all.

"I'm quite fine with my current wardrobe," William offered. "Although I have to admit something a little better quality could be beneficial." Just... out of his price range.

Or was it, considering the fact that he basically had two jobs now and not all that much in the way of expenses?

Marshall wasn't exactly a master of fashion; at his last school, uniforms were mandated for classtime, and he'd always been somewhat casual -- and maybe a little preppy -- about what he wore during his off-hours.

That said: he was also a musician, and he knew that look was at least a part of how you sold yourself, so he'd paid a little attention to what people wore.

"Hey, this (http://cdn.trendhunterstatic.com/thumbs/gucci-fall-2009-menswear-fashion.jpeg) is kinda cool," Marshall said, stopping at one picture in a magazine. He made a face, though. "I could never pull something like that off, though."

Say it with me now, Marshall: attitude.

"These are my people, and this is my style," she intoned, dryly.

Except ... she couldn't help flipping to a something else (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v328/Rellyjean/george/00-20-16.jpg) a few pages later.

"I think I could rock the fuck out of this," she said.

"I like what I wear," Freddie said with a shrug. "Tee shirts and jeans aren't fancy, but I do break out a polo every so often. I do look really good in a tuxedo, but I don't think I should wear it every day."

Who hopefully know how to dress themselves.

Effy could indeed dress herself, though anyone looking at her holey jeans and flannel shirt combo of today might be skeptical.

It was called 'keeping things simple', thanks.

Since Dru was more concerned with keeping cool, her t-shirt and cut-off shorts were working out just fine, thank you very much.

Whose awesome look is mostly accredited to the fact that he actually doesn't know how to dress himself, but someone made him wear a suit anyhow.

I should not be teaching this class. I am wearing hot pink cow socks with my Avengers pyjama bottoms. And am contemplating wearing this to life drawing class and to the movies later today.

I CAN TEACH IT FOR YOU. I DRESS NICE.

... while I'm at work. When I'm at home I'm a fluffy robe girl. COMFORT FOR MEEEE.

I've swapped the jammies for bondage pants and a snappy fedora. I THINK I AM ALMOST FIT TO BE SEEN IN PUBLIC NOW.

I am going to kill this image with a hoodie and an Archangel button on the hat, though. MEH.

FEDORA :D Nothing says 'Awesome!' like a snappy fedora.
