The weather was nice, the school wasn't currently under attack from forces not of this universe and they were still in Iceland. Oh yeah, it was day one of the rest of the newbies' lives.

"Oh, so you already know about this place? Good," Roy said. "I don't have to give you the 'Welcome to Crazytown, population all of us plus you,' lecture." A beat. "So, uh, but this is weird."

"I went to school here years ago with a different Harvey Dent," Dick explained. "So yeah, well-acquainted with the crazy."

"Um, how weird is this for you, exactly?"

"Could be weirder?" Roy said, rubbing at the back of his neck. "Bruce goes to school here, and there are a bunch of different other wrong people who are apparently Robin running around. And another you showed up for parents' weekend last year and totally lied right to my face, 'mano, what was up with that?"

Yes, Dick, Roy was apparently holding you accountable for what some other you did. Sorry.

"Wait. How could any of that be weirder?" Dick asked. His perspective on Bruce being a student and a multitude of Robins was probably just a little bit more personal.

"Well, Dinah graduated from here, too. Not my Dinah. She came from some crazy universe where, like, Bruce had a kid older than her or something. I'm just saying. This place is insane."

"Who's Dinah?" Dick asked. "And why does Bruce have kids in all of these other worlds? My Bruce is better at preparation than that."

No, it didn't occur to Dick that any Bruce might actually fall in love or try to settle down at all. The Bruce he knew was probably going to die a bitter, lonely old man.

He didn't know who Dinah was? Universes were so weird. "Let me put it this way," Roy said, "if you don't know who she is, I probably shouldn't tell you. And, I know, right? You would think he would know how to use a condom." Oh, Roy. Don't throw stones when you're living in a glass house and don't even know it yet.

"So, what's with the mullet?"

"What, a guy can't grow a ponytail when he's traveling the world after stepping out of his old boss's shadow?" Dick asked. "It's just part of the transition to being my own man."
