Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

The weather was nice, the school wasn't currently under attack from forces not of this universe and they were still in Iceland. Oh yeah, it was day one of the rest of the newbies' lives.

"I've been really good, actually. Peter's doing great," Sam said, even though he'd be a lot better if he was here too. "Actually, I'm gonna be here for the whole summer. I wanted to spend some time with Zoe and Grace, since it's just the two of them here now, so I ended up signing up to teach a class on computers so I can stick around for a while."

"I am certain they will appreciate your presence on the island," Raven said. She could sympathize with being separated from Peter, though.

"Computers? If you teach that for the second session, perhaps I should take the course," she said. "I know a little about computers, but not much." Just enough to download TV shows and participate in shipping wars on forums.

"It's going to be a beginner class, so you should totally take it in the second half of the summer. It'd be good to have some people in class who I know," Sam said. "So, have you been enjoying our impromptu vacation to Iceland?"

"I learned that mead is an alcoholic drink," Raven admitted, looking just a touch sheepish. "I did not know that when the Vikings were offering it last weekend."

"Ah, yeah, it's made with honey, not grapes," Sam said. "Did it at least taste good?"

"Oh, it was very good," Raven said. "That is why I drank too much of it. And they only had meat to eat, so I fear it was on an empty stomach as well."
