Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

The weather was nice, the school wasn't currently under attack from forces not of this universe and they were still in Iceland. Oh yeah, it was day one of the rest of the newbies' lives.

Welcome to fandom, kiddos. Try not to trip over left over sombreros from Thursday!

[Please wait for OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here and here, in an effort to keep browsers from breaking for as long as possible.]

Mercy shook her head. "Okay, that makes no sense. Anyway. Hi. I'm Mercedes Thompson. Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too," he replied cheerfully. "So, did anyone talk to you about this place before you got here?"

"No," Mercy said, "but I ran into this kind of odd girl who said my big sibling was supposed to fill me in. She kept alluding to 'the crazy'. So, um... what do I need to know?"

"...well, the island can be a bit different," Tony granted. "I don't know about 'the crazy', though."

"Okay... define 'different'," Mercy said with a laugh.

"I was six years old for a weekend a little while back."

"Very funny," Mercy said with a grin. "Seriously, though."

Tony cleared his throat. "Uh, that was serious."

Okay... maybe it wasn't just the girls who were odd. Or maybe she'd got stuck with a big sibling who did drugs or something.

"Right."

"So... other than the randomly being six...?"

He was all about the drugs! All about 'em!

"Well, there was the time where we got invaded by these annoying turtle-ducks and I got stuck in the dorms after I touched them so many times."

Definitely too many drugs. Mercy'd just smile and nod the way you were supposed to do with crazy people.

"Turtle-ducks, stuck in the dorms..." Smile and nod. "Okay, sure, I see."

"Oh, I will," she assured him. "Don't worry about that. I'll be sure to ask people about the turtle-dogs and how often we'll get stuck in the dorms."

"Ducks," Tony corrected. He knew he should have brought video proof of this. "They had wings."

"Turtle-ducks," she corrected herself. "Sorry."

"There were sombreros raining from the sky too," Tony added, pointing at one of the stray hats on the ground.

Smile and nod. Smile and nod.

"Interesting place."
