The weather was nice, the school wasn't currently under attack from forces not of this universe and they were still in Iceland. Oh yeah, it was day one of the rest of the newbies' lives.

"That's got to be a mistake," Annie decided finally. "They wouldn't really throw us all in co-ed rooms, right?"

"Well, apparently at some point I'm going to turn into an eight year old girl for the weekend," Jack said as he shoved his hands into his coat pockets. "Frankly, I'm not so keen on that idea."

Annie had to ask what she thought was the obvious question. "Why would you turn into an eight-year-old girl?"

Jack's mouth opened and closed a couple of times before he finally came up with something to say. "I really have no idea why... I mean... Okay, look she's really convincing! And I can tell when people are pulling my leg and she really wasn't."

"Okay," she said slowly, though she didn't believe anyone would be turning into an eight-year-old anything. "Who's your big sister?"

"Rinoa Heartilly," he answered. "She gave me a hug and doesn't seem... Well she doesn't seem too crazy."

"Well, hugs aren't so bad. Maybe friendly will balance out any crazy." Ahem. Not that that was her whole thing today or anything. "I got told to watch out for things invading. Iiiii don't know about that."

"Well maybe it's just like the British invasion and we'll just have to deal with rock groups merry old England," Jack joked. "Or just British people in general. Pip pip and all that."
