Once all the graduates had returned to their seats, with their diplomas, Zoe turned to address the audience.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present --- ee da tuo da bien!”

No one should translate that. Just know that it wasn’t Chinese for ‘funky looking red and green spacecraft twice the size of the school that just zoomed in to hover above the lawn.’

A beam of eerie green light shining down from it, straight onto the stage, and from that pool of light stepped... no, surged, a horde of men in hairy, horny helmets, waving battle axes and growling in ...something Nordic? Eric could tell you, if he could make it to the stage, but unfortunately ? Not so much.

Those other beams of light that shot from the ship took care of that issue. Both the audience bleachers and the area of the stage roped off for the faculty were enclosed by shimmering fields of energy that let air and light through, but were frustratingly solid to the touch.

Sadly for the graduates, there was no annoying force-field separating them from the hairy-hatted men -- who were headed straight for the Fandom High Class of 2011.

"I remember Older You visited New Gotham and had a weird time," Dinah said with a slight grin. "I just wanted to re-extend the invitation, if you weren't totally put off by whatever you remember happening. Having happened. Gah, you know what I mean." She sighed. "I don't want it to be five years between seeing people, the way Older Me let it happen."

"Yeah, I object to a lot of my thirtysomething self's doings too." Like that part where she hadn't talked to Bod in twenty years. "And yeah, I'd still like to visit. I mean, I don't actually remember what... happened, I just remember talking about it. Guess we'll just need to be careful."

"Dude. I hadn't seen Priestly in five years, that was just wrong." Dinah shook her head. "So yeah, if you want to stop by this summer, just give me a call. We won't go to any big events, those attract all the weirdos. I have no idea what I'm doing once I'm done with classes. Probably trying to find a summer job, I guess? Maybe another flower shop?" Or something?

"I'm just gonna keep working at the movie theater here," Kate shared. "I'm not taking any of the workshops anymore, either. I'm so done with all that."

"I TA'd a couple, last summer, but I didn't take any," Dinah admitted. "Mostly after the summer trip I goofed off with Jaime." She smiled wryly. "Worse ways to spend your summer after high school."

"Much worse. At least if the island behaves itself." Oh, you just wait until tomorrow, Kate. "Maybe the vikings were the worst for a while."

"It usually doesn't pile on two days in a row..." Famous last words, Dinah. "So yeah. I'm sending you copies of these photos anyway, there's a couple nice ones of you with your diploma, since your parents couldn't make it."

"I think my brother got some too but yeah, thanks," Kate replied with a little smile. "And, we'll be in touch about that visit, right?"

"Works! And again-- way to go. You survived Fandom High."

"I did, didn't I?" It called for a wry smile. "The rest'll be a cakewalk."
