Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2011, Saturday Early Evening PART 2!

Once all the graduates had returned to their seats, with their diplomas, Zoe turned to address the audience.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present --- ee da tuo da bien!”

No one should translate that. Just know that it wasn’t Chinese for ‘funky looking red and green spacecraft twice the size of the school that just zoomed in to hover above the lawn.’

A beam of eerie green light shining down from it, straight onto the stage, and from that pool of light stepped... no, surged, a horde of men in hairy, horny helmets, waving battle axes and growling in ...something Nordic? Eric could tell you, if he could make it to the stage, but unfortunately ? Not so much.

Those other beams of light that shot from the ship took care of that issue. Both the audience bleachers and the area of the stage roped off for the faculty were enclosed by shimmering fields of energy that let air and light through, but were frustratingly solid to the touch.

Sadly for the graduates, there was no annoying force-field separating them from the hairy-hatted men -- who were headed straight for the Fandom High Class of 2011.

"Yes, it is a little excuse to just touch you," Raven sighed with a smile. "Are my motivations that transparent?"

She stepped behind him, letting her fingers skim across his back as she tugged the bandage around him.

//Tighter, th'better, Sunshine.// Also not dirty. Since breathing wasn't an issue, Jono did tend to pull his wrappings on extra tightly. It kept them from falling down at inopportune moments.

The fingers across his back earned a light wave of appreciation. He didn't dare think that the light touch was accidental. And it felt nice.

//It'll take a bit of effort to cramp me in.//

He didn't feel much in that regard, anyhow. It wasn't like she could mutilate him worse than he already was.

She tugged the wrapping tighter, pausing to press a kiss to the back of his shoulder before she moved in front of him again, layering the bandage over the edge of what he'd already gotten into place.

"It is never the same thing that happens twice, is it?" she said idly. "Last year people were transformed and forced to sing. I wonder what will happen next year."

He wouldn't miss Raven's graduation for anything.

Anything barring gaping open chest wounds.

Or brainwashing.

"Yes, next year will be my graduation," Raven confirmed, continuing to move around him to bind his chest. Of course her fingers just happened to keep brushing against him, and oddly enough, so did her lips.

"And I will accept no excuse for you not being here," she added teasingly. Even if she had to go demon on a bunch of brainwashers, so there.

"I had always thought that I would return to Karla's home with her, to be her Healer," Raven said, pausing behind Jono to fuss with the wrappings. "As I have no home of my own anymore." And even if Azarath still stood, she wasn't allowed to return.

"But that was before...." Before Jono. But she could teleport easily enough between worlds, right?

Jono was silent, glancing over his shoulder in an attempt to look at her while she toyed with his bandages back there.

//You know... Plenty can happen in a year,// he offered. //Karla would give you a good home, luv. And from what little I've seen of Kaeleer, they could probably use all th'help they can get.//

He actually did turn around to face her, then, wrappings be damned.

//And I believe you have a year between yer graduation and Karla's, don't you?//

"They could," she agreed, "and I worry about the danger to Karla's life." She'd helped remove one threat hanging over her head, but that certainly didn't take them all away.

She slipped her arms around his waist. "And yes, I do, as she is a year behind me, and I have no plans for that year. Yet." She smiled at him.

Just imagine all of the things they could arrange with a year on their side.

Or, alternatively, all of the ways those things could blow up in their faces.

"You could show me more of your world," Raven said. "Or we could go anywhere." Between portals and her teleporting, they had few limits upon them.

There would be no blowing up of any sort. Or demons. She forbid it.

Well, there was no Trigon on Jono's world. That was a good start, at least.

He didn't even sound too concerned about that 'rest of our lives' bit. In all technicality, he didn't really have a place that he considered home, either.

Because it would be that simple, of course.

"I cannot travel through time easily myself," Raven mused, "but the portals make that possible. Surely there are concerts throughout the years that we can go see, can we not?"

Maybe they'd even make it all the way through one. Maybe.

Raven totally expected that reaction. She knew her way to his heart, after all.

"Lady Ghanima took us to a few concerts through the portal for her Cultural Appreciation class," she said, pleased with herself. "I am certain we can arrange for them on our own. Even twice, as you say. What is it about this particular one that excites you so much?"

//What isn't to be excited about? Arlo Guthrie, Richie Havens, Santana, Janis, Th'Who, Creedence, Hendrix... Three days of music by so many legends, and attended by nearly a half-million people. You know, it was billed as three days of peace and music? And it was.//

Raven laughed happily. "I am not familiar with those names, so you will have to educate me," she said. "But peace and music and you are three of my favorite things, so I am certain I would not mind sharing this experience with you."

Being surrounded by half a million people was daunting, however. A much smaller concert had had her bubbling with emotion; what would this one do?

They'd probably both lapse into a love-and-peace coma before the Sunday. It would be totally groovy.

"Once you are settled back at your academy and I have begun my summer classes here, we can find time that we may do so, then," Raven decided. "It does sound like something I would very much enjoy, even more so to see you enjoy it."

There had been other Woodstocks, but nothing could possibly compare with that first. Ever.
