Once all the graduates had returned to their seats, with their diplomas, Zoe turned to address the audience.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present --- ee da tuo da bien!”

No one should translate that. Just know that it wasn’t Chinese for ‘funky looking red and green spacecraft twice the size of the school that just zoomed in to hover above the lawn.’

A beam of eerie green light shining down from it, straight onto the stage, and from that pool of light stepped... no, surged, a horde of men in hairy, horny helmets, waving battle axes and growling in ...something Nordic? Eric could tell you, if he could make it to the stage, but unfortunately ? Not so much.

Those other beams of light that shot from the ship took care of that issue. Both the audience bleachers and the area of the stage roped off for the faculty were enclosed by shimmering fields of energy that let air and light through, but were frustratingly solid to the touch.

Sadly for the graduates, there was no annoying force-field separating them from the hairy-hatted men -- who were headed straight for the Fandom High Class of 2011.

"I'm glad you're all right," Bod mumbled, rubbing her back and sighing. "You are all right, right? You look all right but perhaps a check up at the clinic is needed?"

"No, I'm okay," Kate sighed, nuzzling the crook of his neck. "I hid like a smart girl."

"I would have done the same thing," he told her, dropping a light kiss against her ear. "It's all over now, both the ceremony and the other events. You can relax."

"Maybe once the adrenaline wears off," Kate suggested quietly. "Although I might just crash once that happens."

She maybe hadn't slept all that puch last night.

"Do you want me to take you somewhere or will you feel better staying here tonight?" Bod asked quietly.

"I honestly do not care," she replied. "I feel fine, I do."

Or not. Maybe not.

"Well, I know your brother's here," he pointed out, rubbing her back again. "I can take you off island to a hotel if you'd rather get away or we can stay here and go out to dinner or something."

"A hotel sounds mighty nice," Kate decided. "I think Moosh can hold his own long enough if we come back early tomorrow. Room service dinner?"

"Of course," Bod promised, nodding. "It's all my treat since you graduated and had a rather rough day. I'll take care of you tonight."

"You're amazing," Kate replied, turning her head to kiss his cheek. "Thank you."

"Apologize to your brother for me," Bod said, smiling the tiniest but. "I don't mean to leave him alone on an insane island. I'm sure he can find an old movie to watch, though."

Kate pulled back enough to shake her head and smile just a little. "I think he's just gonna go back to his hotel and sleep it off," she said. "He'll be fine."

"All right," he said and leaned forward to kiss her forehead. "If you see him off and pack a small bag, I'll come get you in a bit, all right?"

Kate nodded, stepping away from him. "That works for me. See you in a bit."
