Library, Wednesday [4/27/11]
It had been a week since her conversation with Katniss, but the footage of the Hunger Games had stuck with Gabrielle, as had the weight of the entire concept of them.
She was grateful that none of the books seemed to be at odds with each other today, in light of that; there were a few volumes wandering about on their own as if they weren't sure where they needed to be (and flipping through them, Gabrielle wasn't entirely sure how to classify them either) but it was, all in all, relatively peaceful.
Gabrielle appreciated that, even if it did leave her a little too undistracted, which meant that she had far too much time to contemplate the awful resilience of human cruelty as she sat at the desk with a parchment and quill, staring into space more than she did any actual scribbling.
The school year might be over, but the library aide was not devoid of deep and complicated thoughts today. A short trip home might be in order, just to clear her head; things were less complicated there these days, it seemed like. That might be kind of sad if you thought about it -- if you thought about it, and you weren't Gabrielle, anyway.
