Advanced Driver's Ed, Monday Period Two

Today the Danger Shop was set up as a built up, yet abandoned city. A faint rumbling could be heard in the distance.

"Good morning," Bond greeted the class as he checked his watch. The rumbling was much less faint than it had been before. "You'll be starting your final as soon as your vehicles arrive."

Which given what was currently rolling up the street, looked to be quite soon.

This would surely end well.

"The final will be somewhat freeform," Bond explained, clapping his hand against the nearest tank. "You'll have to navigate around the city, there are various moddable obstacles and hazards, you'll have to keep an eye out for each other, and your vehicles are carrying a full ordinance."

Meaning if they decided to start firing at random pieces of the scenery, or on each other, he wasn't going to stop them.

There may have been various obstacles and hazards around the city, but when confronted with Hank in a Tank, they all quickly turned into piles of rubble.

In fact, it couldn't have been more than five or ten minutes before Hank was standing on top of his tank and trying to flag the teacher down. "MISTER BOND!!! MISTER BOND!!! I'M ALL OUT OF GUN FOOD!!!"

Like Reese was going to pass up the opportunity to get his hands on a vehicle like this. He climbed in as soon as possible and started patrolling the city.

The TA was indeed tank-bound and driving around the city, looking for a good target. Someone could flag him down if they wanted to though.

When the class was over, Kyle stayed behind to see if Mr. Bond needed anything. By now, he didn't need to say anything to ask that.

Oh gods, Nico was going to accidentally topple over his tank, he could see it now. Thanks for that gift, Apollo.

As he drove his tank, he worked hard not to run down any people, but um, it seemed he was just going to destroy everything else in his path. Oops?

"Your aunt might think so, but I don't," Kyle replied with a small smile. "But it wouldn't make a difference. I have my orders to return to base after graduation. They don't usually give me so much notice, and the portals are closing for good after I go, so this will be the last time."

"It was always going to end this way," Kyle assured him. He wanted to go home and fight the machines. This is what he'd been training for all along. That didn't stop him from realizing how much about Fandom and the people here that he was going to miss. "I'm sorry I can't stay and TA for you over the summer." It was a silly thing to apologize for, but it felt right to return the apology.
