Class yesterday had been interesting enough that Gabrielle'd made up her mind today would be a Bāguàzhǎng research day, and drifted into that section of the stacks every now and then, between other tasks, to pick out a volume or two on the subject.
"Picking out" said books, of course, turned out to be a matter of trying to circle around them and sneak up from behind.
Gabrielle wasn't really surprised about that; moreover, she was grateful the books didn't seem to have Xena's ridiculous level of eyes-in-the-back-of-her-head awareness.
