Fighting Reserve, Tuesday After Class
Today's setup in the Danger Shop (aside from the customary food-and-beverage station, because that was customary) might be familiar to anyone who'd been to Reserves meetings for a while, or had typical gym classes in your standard contemporary-type Earth high school.
Hey. Don't argue with a classic.
"So," said a slightly distracted Kennedy once everyone had arrived, "we're going with an oldie-but-goodie today: obstacle course time."
It was probably worth noting that it was a modified military pentathlon course, because that was what you got from someone who'd been trained by a Watcher with a certain Royal Marine family tradition. She pointed toward the five-stage course. "This is pretty basic, right? Like, it shouldn't take that much explaining? Start at that end, get through to the other. Race each other if you want, or just try to get a good time for yourself." Beat. "Also, y'know, have a good time, 'cause we're all about that, right? The physical challenge thing? Seriously, that's really all the explaining this takes. Go rock that thing."
"Just try not to fail in a particularly humorous fashion," Maladicta added. "It never ends well for anyone involved." She knew from experience in the military, got it? And, you know, from being written by Terry Pratchett.

Re: Talk to the Leaders
People dressed up as knights (yeah, she was starting to suspect they actually were, even though that made no sense whatsoever even by her vaguely-informed concept of Hellmouth standards) seen chasing an RV out into the desert? What the hell?
