How to Be a Proper Sea Dog [Friday, March 11, 2011]
Captain Hook's class met in the Danger Shop, though the setting was quite different this week. Instead of a ship, they were on a sandy beach, with beautiful crystal blue water lapping at the shore. The sand was fine and white, and inwards of shore was a tropical forest, filled with fauna and animal noises that made it sound like a veritable zoo.
What stood out, however, was not as striking as the table filled with paintball guns situated right in front of Captain Hook (who was also not wearing his usual regal get-up, but a simple white jumpsuit. He wasn't risking getting paint all over his clothes.
His massivewig hair and Captain's hat were still there, though. Those were necessary.
"Today you will practice your marksmanship with small arms," Hook said. "I know, you might be having visitors show up, so I opted out of live fire and went for the fun option." He chuckled to himself. "Bangarang, and all that rot."
"Every man and woman for themself. Last student unspattered with paint will win a prize."
Thankfully, it wasn't something outrageous like... priority registration.
"That prize is a fabulous hat, not quite as fabulous as my own, but something quite nice. You'll get it next week, of course, as I could hardly risk your fabulous prize getting sullied with paint." He chuckled again.
"So, get to it, get yourselves armed. After five minutes of prep, I will sound this air horn," Hook held up said air horn, "and the mayhem begins. Remember, a good pirate knows to shoot first, and not need to ask questions later. Also, anyone who purposefully fires upon my good person will find themselves on the receiving end of a detention." His smile was part snarl, there.
"Right right, go on now, grab your weapons and ammo! If you don't know how to use them, well... better hope you're a fast learner!"
Hook didn't think of himself as evil, no. He was just... ethically challenged. And by George he'd enjoy the mayhem he subjected his students to this week.
