"I apologize for my absence last week," Alaric said once everybody sat down. "I was called out of town unavoidably."

No, Damon had wanted someone to hang out with Monday night and Alaric couldn't get rid of his hangover come Tuesday morning.

"Today is gonna be an easy day. Well, actually it's gonna be an easy day in preparation for the hard day you have next week," Alaric said, smiling. "You've heard me lecture enough so next week you guys are going to do the work for me. We are supposed to cover Greek mythological creatures so what I want you to pick one, do a little research and next week you're gonna stand up in front of the class and tell everyone what you learned about the creature you chose."

Alaric started handing out a list of possible things people could pick. "I want you all to tell me what you want to do your presentation on before you leave class today so nobody does two of the same thing. Oh, and the kraken isn't on that list but you're free to do that as well."

Just so long as they shouted "Release the kraken!" at somebody before classtime was over.

"You all are free to leave after you tell me what you chose. Gives you more time to do research."

Bod scanned the list, trying to find something that jumped out at him for some reason. There were a few thing so he scribbled them down and decided to choose later.

Without thinking about it too hard, Kate went for the Furies. It was probably for the best if no one decided to read too much into that.

Good lord, there were so many. After picking and discarding a few ideas, Claudia finally decided to go with a sphinx.

It was probably unsurprising that Kennedy opted for the lamia, huh? She was pretty sure there was a bunch of stuff about that in the books Constance had sent her, and the less time spent researching the better.

Which was the contingency plan; the first plan of action was to try and get the information out of Constance directly.

Raven decided on the Phoenix, due in no small part to her own recent rebirth. And it reminded her of Elizabeth's fiery Soul-Self.

George was going for Cerberus. Why not.

Calvin picked dryads. Hot babes who were trees, how awesome was that?

Dragons. Scully traced the picture of one curled around the base of a tree, and decided to write hers about Ladon. There were other topics more familiar, or that resonated, but she found the idea of something fierce appealing today.

Helen chose the pegasus. A winged horse. Why not?
