Advanced Driver's Ed, Monday Period Two

Today the Danger-Shop resembled a crowded loading dock, though even with all the clutter it would have been hard for Bond's students to miss the big, yellow, metal thing standing in the middle of the bay.

"Sometimes you might be called up to use a vehicle made for one purpose for an entirely different one," Bond said, running his hand along the worn and battered side of the power-loader. "However, that kind of improvisation is much more effective if you're familiar with the capabilities and limitations of your tools. Which is why you'll be spending today's class putting this through its paces. It's doubtful you'll ever need to use it, but on the off-chance you find yourself in a situation where you need the extra size and strength, you'll know what to do."

Sadly there aren't any acid-blooded xenomorph queens to fight, but there are boxes to carry from one side of the bay to the other, and all sorts of debris and clutter to avoid tripping over while you do so.

Bod barely heard the brief lecture because he was too busy staring at the vehicle in front of them. It was enormous and looked dangerous and he was kind of anticipating getting in there to try it out.

Bod waited patiently, hands tucked into his pockets and eyes on the other students getting a chance at the power loader.

Bod got into the power loader and got it going fairly slowly. He didn't want to swing around and hit a wall or break something that he'd have to pay for later.

He did manage to grab some boxes and move them without anything catastrophic happening.

Oh gods, Nico was in awe of that machine and totally ready to do whatever Bond said if he got to try and operate it. Especially since there were no children of Hephaestus around to show off how much better they were with machines than he would ever be.

This was a little too close to home for Kyle to feel comfortable. It wasn't until a good way into the class that he went to check out the power loaders.
