"Well, if someone is no longer your friend, it's probably because they have done something very wrong, and hurt you. Not hurt you, like 'Here, have a knife through your chest' like Buffy's been known to do, but made you have very sad feelings that make your insides hurt. You probably wish you could kill them, or at least disembowel them or something," breath, "with strangers you don't have that kind of relationship." she finishes and smiles at CJ.

Anya, I think the most disturbing part of what you've said is the accuracy of it. Personally, I have wished for, let's say "certain kinds of harm" to befall people. Generally that kind of anger stems from a deeply intimate relationship...more than just friends. I think everyone who has ever had a broken heart wants a little payback.
