Study Hall -- Thursday, October 27th

As usual, Sarah sits in front of the room -- however, she's now taken to watching everybody who comes into the room with an unusually close eye and scribbling down something in her notebook in an ominous way.

In honor of the upcoming Halloween holiday, there's a small cauldron full of candy on her desk, and the puppies lie in a basket next to the desk all wearing little orange bows around their necks.

"Maybe he had some bad toast?" John jokes but feels instantly bad about it. Lee's rarely that unhappy so something must be up. "So, going for three in a row with detention this weekend?" John grins.

Anders laughs. "No way, man, I've got better things to do with my weekends. Anyway, me and Cally agreed on that. No more detention after Official Date Night."

John gives him a thumbs up. "Good. I'm tried to organize a small football game last Saturday but all I got was a girl that wanted to run me over to 'expend her energy.' I did get to teach Aeryn some of the game and that was fun. If you guys are around, you should come out. Yeah, it's Parent's Weekend and all but we're gonna need a break from all that."

"Football?" Anders grins. "Man, I have picked up so many sports since I got here, my mom would freak. We could probably go check it out. Neither of us have parents coming to visit anyway."

"Sweet." John writes a note to himself on his notebook. "I do have a parent coming but I'll need to get away from him for a while. Only so much dad a guy can stand."

"Hey Anders, random question." John smiles and leans across his desk. "Why don't you like your first name?"

Anders smiles tiredly. "Get it yelled up the stairs at you in that 'you are so frakked if you don't get your ass down here right now' way often enough . . ."

"Ah," John says with a nod. "I know that feeling. Mine was usually my first and middle names rather then just the first name. And my mother and sister's were the only ones I let get away with Johnny. I hate that name but they can use it."
