Study Hall -- Thursday, October 27th

As usual, Sarah sits in front of the room -- however, she's now taken to watching everybody who comes into the room with an unusually close eye and scribbling down something in her notebook in an ominous way.

In honor of the upcoming Halloween holiday, there's a small cauldron full of candy on her desk, and the puppies lie in a basket next to the desk all wearing little orange bows around their necks.

Sawyer creases the edge of his page, to mark where he ended. He's read a tong of pages today, he should be finished with it soon.

"Nice puppy." he says in a low voice.

Paige smiles as the puppy rolls about on the table in front of her, she puts an arm near it to make sure it doesn't fall.

"Yeah it's pretty cute, I'm a frim believer that there's nothing in the world a puppy or kitten can't fix" she says stroking it gently but looking at Saywer

Chuckling, he goes back to his book and finishes out the chapter; he's not too fond of PDA or anything like that, so this is good.

Glancing up, he gives the dog a pat on the head and sets his book away. "Are you going to keep it?"

Paige smiles "Nah, I'm just playing with while I'm here, I'm not a big fan of things that need toilet training, also I'm more of a cat person really."

"Ain't never had an animal of my own. Parents never let me." he nods and pats the dog again.

Paige bites her lip and looks at him "me neither, I might get a black cat when I leave here, really live up to the stereotype!"

He grins, and runs a hand over her back in a comforting move; Chaucer was right, he should make her happy. "My Gran'Pa had huntin' dogs but I only met him once, didn't know him too well."

Paige smiles as he runs his hand down her back, "that reminds me my Grams is coming for parents weekend, I've never even met her, so that should be interesting. I thought maybe we could do something afterwards though? Unless you have other plans"

"Ain't got no parents, so no plans. Grams a scary woman?" he cringes as he thinks about meeting family members.

She laughs a little, "well from what I've heard maybe a little, but I figured I'd meet her, do some stuff with her and my sisters then maybe you and I could hang out? I might be alcohol and comfort. She doesn't really know what's been happening, but I should probably tell her. She might know what caused it."

Sawyer leans back in his chair, crossing his arms over his chest, "Yeah, that sounds fine with me." he agrees shortly.

Paige cocks her head at him and picks up the puppy hugging it a little

"You ok James?" she asks trying not to sound too concerned

"Yeah, I'm alright; just had a weird night last night." he smiles over at her, not going to tell about Chaucer, he promised!

She looks down at the puppy, scratching it's head gently

"Oh right, okay." Paige knows there's something he wasn't telling her but figured he was probably with another girl so decides not to push the matter, concentrating on the puppy for now
