"You know what the cheapest way to get a laugh is besides farting?" Lucas asked the assembled room. "Be ugly. If you're ugly, any funny thing you say becomes twice as funny. And if you completely bomb, people will still laugh. But they're laughing at you, not with you. And you deserve it."

"'But Mister Lee,' you say, 'I'm really attractive! How can I ugly myself up for laughs?'" Lucas said, lowering his pitch just a little for an impression of all teenagers. "First off, get over yourself. You're not that good looking. If you were, you'd already have a TV show at least. Second, wear prosthetics. Whether it's fake buck teeth, a weird mole thing, or just a fat suit, wearing some kind of weird latex thing will make you even funnier!"

"There's only one trick to it. It only works for five minutes, ten minutes, max. When people try to play eight roles in a movie with different makeup tricks, it'll get a few laughs out of you and then nothing else ever. So don't even try it. Leave that kind of thing to the hacks."

"And in case you don't believe me, I had someone take a few Eddie Murphy movies and take away all the parts where he isn't wearing some kind of stupid fat suit or prosthetic or something. And you're going to watch that while I look over some scripts. At the end of the hour, we'll see if you think any of that is funny again."

Well, it wasn't anything being thrown, but it was definitely evil.

Just remember, you're not as attractive as you think you are!

Kate was totally as attractive as she thought she was, thanks.

But she was almost a little bummed out nothing super extreme was happening today. (This movie watching exercise didn't count. Yet.) She'd almost gotten to expect it.

While this wasn't as exciting as someone getting tossed out the window, Professor Lee was entertaining enough on his own to make Nathan pay attention. Couple that with the fact that this was a cake class today and he looked pretty damn content.

Hey, Quinn worked hard to stay exactly as attractive as she thought she was, thank you very much. Her hair didn't straighten itself every damn morning, and the lip gloss didn't jump up and onto her mouth on its own.

She looked distinctly skeptical during the lecture. But at least he wasn't going to make them put on prosthetics. That was a plus.

Peter was also totally as attractive as he thought he was, thank you very much indeed.

He also wished he carried ear plugs, because he was not looking forward to today's activity.

Ariel tilted her head as she listened, thinking that, in her book, thinking that she was plenty attractive, but that the idea of uglying herself up for a role sounded like a lot of fun! After all, that was the sort of thing where the beauty from within would still shine right through!

The horror. The horror!

Really, this guy was fucking awful. AWFUL. Nathan thought a rock with a fucking face painted on it could have done better. Eventually, he just covered his eyes and listened. It was still awful but at least he didn't have to watch.

Paying attention was never a valid choice during movie day. Caroline was just lucky she could dig in her bag and pull out a nail file. Hey, if she was going to have to sit there through this horror first thing in the morning, she was at least going to improve her manicure.

When she pings!

As loath as Ramona was to admit it, Lucas had a point. Eddie Murphy movies: completely unfunny without added makeup.

When he pings! ...Waitasecond....

I'm so tired right now. I hope I didn't make any embarrassing typos because they're getting ignored for a while.

Ugh. You've given me Vampire in Brookyln flashbacks :D

I've managed to avoid that one. And yet, somehow, I still have his wig burned into my memory. Ugh.
