Kappa Kappa Gremlin Meeting, After Classes, Monday [ 01/24 ].

Here it was. The start of a brand new semester with Kappa Kappa Gremlin, and Alexander thought himself quite clever by not having pizza as everyone probably suspected, but the next best thing, ice cream, awaiting the gentlemen as they gathered for their weekly meeting.

“For those of you who are new to Kappa Kappa Gremlin,” Alexander started with a proud smile, “welcome! For those of you who are returning, welcome back! My name is Alexander of Daventry....”

“And I’m SOLDIER 1st Class, Zack Fair!” Who managed to speak with exclamation points even after a crappy weekend. That was just how this puppy rolled. “And... I know you all probably know one another by now, since we’re already a few weeks into the semester, but since this is our first meeting, running through introductions just one more time can’t hurt, right?”

Zack nodded toward the ice cream, which was surrounded by massive heaps of toppings, from sauces and sprinkles to nuts and berries and all kinds of candy bits. It was like sundae heaven. And, in Alexander’s mind, the only thing missing from a presentation like that was a really, really bad movie.

“But as incentive to get us to all open up and talk about ourselves,” Zack continued, “and maybe to throw out a few suggestions for what you’d like to see the frat do this semester, there’s ice cream! With a catch. If you want to put anything on it, you have to share something with the group. Maybe something about yourself, or an activity that we can organize for a future meeting. You have to give a little to get a little, get it?”

“So, essentially,” Alexander offered with a grin, “for every topping you use, you have to tell us either something about yourself, or an idea for the fraternity. And, remember, we have a sister sorority now, too, so we’ll have to do what we can to keep up with the girls. Now, quickly, before the ice cream starts to melt, and whoever would like to go first, go for it!”

Clearly, Alexander and Zack are trying to mix things up a little with the pizza. But who doesn't love a sundae? Build your own and introduce yourself and remember, for each topic, you're expected to say something about yourself or give a suggestion for the semester.

And just try to keep the jokes about nuts to a minimum.

Okay, so, vanilla ice cream, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, chocolate chips, chocolate sprinkles, rainbow sprinkles, marshmallows, peanuts, cashews, chocolate sauce, strawberry sauce, whipped cream, M&Ms, caramel sauce, peanut butter chips, more whipped cream, a banana, and a cherry on top for good measure...

Gods save them all.

"I already introduced myself at the start of the meeting," Zack said, hell-bent now on earning the sundae of doom, "but I have to earn all of this, so you guys are going to really get to know me, now!"

Run.

"I'm Zack Fair, SOLDIER 1st Class, which means by rank, I'm just a step below the director of the strongest military group back on my world. I have a pet gerbil who lives in my pocket, I'm dating Ino, my favorite color is pink," because he was a truly manly man, shut up, "and for hobbies, I like to train with my sword and do squats."

Which had earned him... right up to rainbow sprinkles, which meant he still had to earn everything from marshmallows onwards.

"This is my second semester helping to run the frat, and I've been helping to head the martial reserves group, which meets on Tuesdays, for... man, for just about forever, now."

Well, it felt like forever, to Zack. He was puppylike in his attention span, to say the least.

"I don't eat meat if I can help it, I love Mountain Dew and Pixie Stix, and my sword is like six feet long and I'm pretty sure there aren't many people on the island who could lift it. Did I mention that I like doing squats? Maybe I should put back the banana..."

He'd probably ramble on like this for another ten minutes or so. His ice cream would be melted before he even managed to figure all of this out.

Considering Zack's fully loaded sundae, Alexander felt like quite the minimalist for having just his ice cream with some strawberries, some banana, a little bit of caramel and fudge, and a light scattering of peanuts.

His stomach, however, was quite okay with this.

"And I, also, introduced myself earlier, but, as a fan of ice cream, I will have to offer a bit more," he said with a grin. "So what else can I say? I started attending this school in the summer of last year, and I am a prince. I would still like to get that date auction idea off the ground, as it could be fun, but it got a little last semester with everything that happened. Hmm, let's see. Oh, I have a twin sister, who actually looks nothing like me, and...I grew up in a land much warmer than this one, so this cold weather and snow, though we have the winter season in Daventry, still takes some getting used to for me, but I do enjoy it. There, I do think that covered everything...at least, as far as the sundae toppings go!"

Peter eyed the ice cream for a moment, and then couldn't resist.

"So if I just have plain vanilla, I don't even have to share my name?" he said, smirking.

"Maybe not," Zack replied, laughing a little, "but that won't stop someone else from introducing you. I might have to start making things up."

And he would do it, too!

Well that settled it. With a grin barely restrained on his face, Peter got a single scoop of vanilla into a bowl and grabbed a spoon.

He gestured with the spoon to Zack. "Introduce away," he said. "Because this is an opportunity I do not want to miss."

"Well, obviously, you're Peter," Zack began with, because that was the easy part, and maybe this meant that he would be earning the rest of his own toppings, this way. "And from there, I'm curious. Should I tell them about how you were raised by pirate ninjas in the mountains of Egypt, or about all of the charity work that you do, making sweaters for orphan kids out of the spun coats of lions that you wrestled into submission with your bare hands in Antarctica?"

Zack's grasp on Earth geography was not so hot, really.

It was a good thing ice cream was just solid enough as to not be easily snorted through the nose, because Peter couldn't stop the laughter that nearly sent icy cold creamy goodness right up into his sinuses.

"Oh, man. I forgot about the lion wrestling. It's been so long," he said, pinching the bridge of his nose.

Brain freeze. Owwwwww.

"Those orphans get so cold, in Egypt."

"Which only makes sense, what with your giant pet ice dragons hanging around," Zack replied, nodding solemnly. "The ones that you caught and tamed yourself when you were just a kid."

This was why people back in Midgar had learned never to let Zack use his imagination, apparently.

"My name is Hank Venture," Hank began. "But you can call me the Hankenator. My pop's a superscientist. But he's not really all that super. His name is Rusty. Except it's not, really -- that's just what people call him. He used to have a TV show! It kinda sucked. I have a twin brother! His name is Dean. He's a wuss, but I guess he's all right. I can play the guitar. I can really rock a neckerchief. My pop's bodyguard is more Ratman than Ratman. His name is Brock. We have a robot. His name is H.E.L.P.eR. We have a super-experimental jet that my grampa built. And a submarine. And a whole lab compound place thing. And a creepy magic guy for a neighbor. And... Oh, I guess I'm out of toppings."

Not that the number of toppings on his ice cream at all matched the number of facts he'd spouted, but he hadn't been counting too closely. And now he had a bowl so full of toppings that you couldn't see the ice cream underneath. "SUNDAE TIME!!!"

That was....certainly a Zack-sized sort of introduction and Alexander wasn't even sure he understood all of it, but Hank...er, the Hankenator, he supposed...was one of the new members and so he would certainly be friendly.

"Well, welcome to the club, then," he said with a smile. "What made you interested in joining up, Hank? Errr....inator."

"Well, 'fraternity' just means something about brotherhood, right? And I'm all about that. Brotherhood, I mean. 'Cause I've got a brother."

"That is exactly what it means," Alexander confirmed with a nod. "Brotherhood, although having a real brother is hopefully not required, or else I might be a little in error here." He chuckled, slightly, because that was just the type of joke Alexander found humorous.

"I'm Shane Gooseman, Goose," Goose said, "I grew up in the military and I enjoy target practice,"

He figured that was good enough.

"Welcome back, Shane," Alexander grinned a little at the very...ah...minimalist introduction. "Have you had much chance to get some target practice in lately?"

He nodded, "I ~~handwavily~~ aim to get in some target practice at least every day,"

"That's an excellent goal," Alexander grinned. "I could probably stand to be that dedicated in my sword work..."

Ben glanced down with dismay at his hot fudge, nut and whipped cream festooned concoction.

"I'm Ben Skywalker, I'm a junior, I've been on the island for two and a half years, and I only sound like I'm from England," he said with a quick smile.

"Welcome back, Ben," Alexander said. "Anything in particular you'd like to see happen with this semester?"

"Well, Tony and I had this idea..." Ben began.

Run, Alexander. Run away.

"Have you heard about the effects glitter has on this island?"

"I'm afraid I have," Alexander muttered, eying Ben with the same expression he gave Peter when he suggested mud wrestling. "What did you have in mind?"

"An experiment," he said earnestly "We'd need girls, and Tony and I would make a device that would distribute the glitter evenly. And then the fraternity could make scientific observations."

Or something.

Alexander couldn't help that he just couldn't trust magical glitter that inspired people to be more intimate with each other, whether it was being unleashed on girls, boys, or anything in between. He'd make the suggestion to Ben that, if scientific observations were being made, perhaps it was something better suited for science club, but, blast, he was in that one as well.

So he just stuck with, "....Interesting."

He wondered what Maladicta might think of this plan. Maybe she could be a standard. Or something.

Like many of the gatherings Anduin had attended, he'd arrived without having a clear picture as to exactly what he was getting himself into. At the moment, he was very grateful that he'd only put chocolate sauce and cherries on his ice cream. "I'm Anduin Wrynn," he said, "and this is my first semester at the school. I've never been part of a fraternity before, but it sounds fun and...I'm not sure what else to say, really. You'd think I'd be better at this after the first week of classes."

Alexander grinned a little. "You'd think so, yes, but it's always interesting when embarking on things unfamiliar to you, but it's the quest that makes it all the more worthwhile. Welcome to the club, Anduin; it's good to have you."
