Adventures, Capers and Escapes - Danger Shop, Thursday, Period 3
There was a noticeable lack of Doctor at the front of the class today.
Instead, Cara stood in the middle of the Danger Shop with a number of empty wooden tubs at her feet. Her face betrayed absolutely no indication that she'd spent the last hour wrestling with the control manual for the Danger Shop after getting an unexpected notice from the Doctor that she'd be taking the class today.
"Here's the thing about adventures," she began after the class had finished arriving. She fiddled with a control and a clearing in some thick, overgrown, yet-still-picturesqueNew Zealand woods faded in around the class. "They're not just running around over the countryside while people try to kill you. That's just the fun part. You may be forced into situations that are uncomfortable, that are unpleasant, that for one reason or another you may find embarrassing." Like wearing froofy pink dresses and being forced to speak in rhyme, compared to that the class was going to be getting off easily with what she had planned.
"Which is why you will be taking part in a modified version of a Mord'Sith training exercise designed to help inure trainees to some of the various hardships they may encounter, as you can see you are in the middle of unfamiliar woods, night is falling, you have no supplies, and you're quite sure you heard something large and predatory in the undergrowth earlier. Oh, and you are wearing only your undergarments." She paused a second to let that last part sink in. "So I'm going to need you to put all of your clothes except those into one of these tubs before we begin. You'll get them back at the end of class."
"I'm not going to tell you what you should do with your time, since that's the entire point of the exercise." Cara fiddled with another control, and a drizzle filled the air. "But you might want to get started quickly, it looks like there's a storm coming."
