There was a noticeable lack of Doctor at the front of the class today.

Instead, Cara stood in the middle of the Danger Shop with a number of empty wooden tubs at her feet. Her face betrayed absolutely no indication that she'd spent the last hour wrestling with the control manual for the Danger Shop after getting an unexpected notice from the Doctor that she'd be taking the class today.

"Here's the thing about adventures," she began after the class had finished arriving. She fiddled with a control and a clearing in some thick, overgrown, yet-still-picturesque ~~New Zealand~~ woods faded in around the class. "They're not just running around over the countryside while people try to kill you. That's just the fun part. You may be forced into situations that are uncomfortable, that are unpleasant, that for one reason or another you may find embarrassing." Like wearing froofy pink dresses and being forced to speak in rhyme, compared to that the class was going to be getting off easily with what she had planned.

"Which is why you will be taking part in a modified version of a Mord'Sith training exercise designed to help inure trainees to some of the various hardships they may encounter, as you can see you are in the middle of unfamiliar woods, night is falling, you have no supplies, and you're quite sure you heard something large and predatory in the undergrowth earlier. Oh, and you are wearing only your undergarments." She paused a second to let that last part sink in. "So I'm going to need you to put all of your clothes except those into one of these tubs before we begin. You'll get them back at the end of class."

"I'm not going to tell you what you should do with your time, since that's the entire point of the exercise." Cara fiddled with another control, and a drizzle filled the air. "But you might want to get started quickly, it looks like there's a storm coming."

There are copious amounts of deadfall in the trees surrounding the clearing if you want to make a go of things here, but maybe there might be something better* waiting for you?

So it's time to brainstorm the best ways to survive the woods, work out priorities, partner up, then try to make a go of it.

Just remember that the rain is getting heavier and the woods are getting darker with each passing minute.

* There's totally a cave about ten minutes walk to the east, though it might be an idea to check it for large predators first. (Or you might get eaten by a grue during the night.)

Chloe hated this. She really hated this. She understood the point of the exercise, but she was going to be so angry if she got sick because of this.

She started looking around for a partner as she took stock of what kind of supplies they had. There was possibly a chance of making a fire or pulling somethings together for a shelter.

Yes, she had managed to survive a night in the woods one time, but damn it, she was wearing clothes at the time.

Helen nodded at Chloe. "Shall we partner up? I have some experience with this sort of thing."

Chloe nodded at her roommate. "I had clothes last time I had to do this."

Helen made a face. "Clothes would make things more comfortable. Still, I wear less when I swim, so..." She shrugged. "At least here we won't really be hurt."

Adventuring through the woods in the rain in the nighttime without clothes.

Ariel loved today's class!

"Clearly," Ariel said to no one in particularly, mostly to pick out who might be with her, "we need to start exploring and see if we can find some supplies."

Robin the frog scout was on the case! "Right! Since it's raining, and almost night, I think shelter might be a good priority."

"Don't be silly, Robin," Ariel said with a giggle. "How can we be exploring if we're staying in a shelter?"

"Ah but with a shelter, we'll have a home base from which to launch explorations."

"So long as it's just a home base," Ariel allowed. "Maybe to keep any of the stuff we find safe."

"Right cause we need some place to put the supplies."

Ariel nodded. "So let's find a place for shelter, and maybe we'll find some supplies on the way!"

Robin nodded. "There looks to be plenty of wood for a fire, but it might be kind of wet."

Roy looked around for anyone who looked like they might want to hook up to get through Naked Day.

Or just hook up in general? Hey, they were already down to their underwear...

Hank immediately set about trying to make a hat and poncho by sewing together dead leaves using bits of grass.

It didn't work.
