Hello, everyone. Beatings Presentations will continue until morale improves. Jack and Cally's was quite good, and while I don't expect you to have building blocks on hand, I'm certain that the rest of you can come up with something equally brilliant.

carter_i_am, you're excused from this assignment, but could you see me after class to talk about your project?

She sent me an email, giving her permission. I'll get you officially registered this afternoon.

[He bites on the end of a pen.] I must admit, though, that since you're working on a rather high level, that I was thinking...would you prefer an independent study, so that you can do this collaboration with Professor Eppes? What you're proposing is definitely beyond what we're doing here at the introductory level.

Sam considers this proposal and runs an absent hand through her hair. "I'm not sure. I like being in class and participating and discussing physics with other people, but I see what you mean about that project. I don't want to take too much on, but I don't want to be bored, either."

Here's a solution--why don't you come and sit in on class, but you wouldn't have to write any of the papers. The project itself would be grade enough. Perhaps you and I and Professor Eppes could meet on Friday to discuss things?

Sam grinned and resisted the urge to do a victory dance. "Yes, thank you, that would be perfect! And Friday is great--my Friday morning Classics class has been cancelled for good, so I only have one class on Fridays now that I've dropped Physics."

"This is something I've been looking forward to working on for quite some time, and I'm thrilled that I'm going to have people like you and Professor Eppes guiding me on it."
