At the front desk, Sarah is randomly smacking any frog that comes near her with the hammer Lorelei gave her. Occasionally, she leans over as if a thought has struck her and scribbles something down in her notes with a triumphant smile.

"Seems like a good idea now." Anders yawns, eyes the blanket, and thinks better of it since this particular blanket looks pretty itchy. "I'm thinking of starting to bring a sleeping bag to my classes with me."

Bridge raises an eyebrow. "Long night, dude?"

"Long day. Long night. Too much to do." Anders puts his head down on the desk and squints at Bridge out of one eye. "Not enough coffee."

Bridge smiles sympathetically and offers a handful of sugar packets. "S'not more coffee, but you can put it in the coffee. Or just eat it, if that's your thing..."

Anders takes the sugar packets, meticulously separates them into equal piles, and dumps them unceremoniously into the two cups of coffee. "Thanks. You always carry sugar around with you?"

Bridge shrugs. "I find it best to be prepared."

"Good idea. Never know when you'll need sugar."

"Exactly! I mean, let's say I didn't have any sugar on me, and a sugar-related emergency might come up, and then where would I be? Without sugar, that's what!"

Anders nods solemnly. "And that would suck. Do you ever have, say, oregano-related emergencies?"

Bridge frowns thoughtfully. "You know... I never really thought about that." He looks a bit worried, "...should I?"

Anders realizes he's actually genuinely perplexed by the question. "I never thought about it either. I don't think it ever really comes up, though. Oregano's not, like, crucial, is it? Worst case, you just put up with bland food for a little while."

"Yeah, that makes sense. I mean, things would get kinda awkward if I started carrying around, like, an entire spice rack in my backpack." He leans forward and whispers conspiratorially, "plus I think some people might think I was weird."

"And we can't have that," agrees Anders, keeping as much of a straight face as he can. "I mean, do you have any idea how many spices are out there? Especially across dimensions? . . . no, wait, don't count them, okay? Let's just say there's a frak of a lot."
