Cafeteria // Monday Lunchtime

It was just another ordinary day in the Fandom High cafeteria. The lunch special was the macaroni, the juice tasted a little funny (which was really no different from the norm), the snickerdoodles were to be avoided, and...

Well, somewhere over the course of the night, they appeared to have gotten in a shipment of peaches. Crates filled with them. More peaches than they could possibly give away, without cooking them up into something. And so, one of the school cooks had come up with the brilliant idea to make a cobbler out of them all.

That was naturally a far better dessert choice than the snickerdoodles, wasn't it? And there was plenty to go around! Eat hardy, kids!

[OOC: OCD FREEEEEEEEEE!!! This is, of course, the place to go if you want to get your fill of peach cobbler before the Masquerade this evening. There should be other posts going up during the course of the day in town with peachy goodness as well, if eating lunch in the school caf isn't your thing. Open for all of your lunchy needs!]

Tara frowned and ate even more of the cobbler. She, too, found it unusually compelling.

"I wonder if we have anybody with x-ray vision," she mused. "Or we could send people in. Maybe we should get all of the reserves groups together and make a plan."

"I think it would be wise to combine our efforts," Raven said, taking another bite. "I have been sorely tempted to go in myself, but I have forced myself to wait." Just barely; part of her was still screaming to storm the walls and it was all she could do to keep herself calm. "We have no idea what lies behind the walls and a variety of skills may be useful."

"Definitely smarter to have back-up," Tara said, but apprehensively.Raven's anxiety was apparent. "Will you be okay until then? No running off and doing something crazy?"

"When those I care for are in danger, it brings out the best in me...and the worst," Raven said. She could hear her father whispering that she was a fool to wait for guidance on what to do instead of going after Karla and Bobby herself, but she ignored him.

"I will not go in alone," she said. "Professor Skywalker would be cross with me." His approval or lack therof was always good motivation.

"There is a lot of best in you," Tara said firmly, as if she was making it more true by saying it. "And I? Would totally pout at you, too, if Professor Skywalker was busy. So would Karla. So there."

"Thank you," Raven murmured, trying to take strength from Tara's faith. She tried to smile. "I would not wish you to do that, or to have Karla upset with me when we get her back."

She covered her mouth as she felt a yawn coming on. "I did not sleep last night," she said. "I think it is starting to catch up with me."

"You should go take a nap if you're tired," Tara said. "Or meditate. Take your mind off this until we know more."

"I am too anxious to sleep," Raven said, finishing what was left of her cobbler. It was too good to toss away. "But perhaps meditation will calm my mind. Will you come find me if you hear anything?"

"Only if you promise to do the same for me," Tara said. "See you tomorrow if not before."

"I will," Raven said. "If I learn anything the first people I will tell will be you and Dolf and...." She caught herself before she said Karla. "And Professor Skywalker, of course," she finished instead.

"Tomorrow," she said, nodding to Tara and sending her a wave of reassurance that she somehow managed to pull from within herself.
