The fact that Kūkaku smoked a pipe, therefor making it impossible to really share any of her excellent tobacco, had just been like the icing on the cake for the events of the morning, and she came into class with a very cool and calm demeanor.

And smoking like a chimney. She wasn't concerned about the smoke alarms; she'd done extensive research on them and mostly dismantled the ones she knew she'd be around the most, because they'd never stop.

"So here's what we're doing today," she informed the class once it was time to begin. "We're gonna make some low-impact, mostly smoke bombs. Yeah, I said low-impact. Yes, I'm feeling fine. You'll find out in a bit why I'm saying low-impact, and, trust me, you'll be glad. And since big bangs ain't our focus today, it's gonna be efficiency. You're making small ass bombs right now, so you better be able to make a lot of 'em. Ya got ten minutes, make as many as ya can, but nothing that's gonna be big enough to even so much as burn a person. Moderation, and all that shit. You make anything that'll hurt anyone more than a singe, your ass is in trouble. You'll see why. Gotta be versatile as a bomb maker, blah blah blah, your times starts...now! Get to work!"

Check for signs that your teacher is really a pod-person with all that low-impact talk.

Here was a usually tense and bombastic teacher who was obsessed with big explosions... acting calm and collected. This week.

Yep. You didn't have to take Sherlock's class to put that one together.

Ten minutes to make as many small little bombs that won't really hurt anyone as you can. Go!

Bruce had been hoping for a good lesson on smoke bombs. As handy as other explosives would be in his future, smoke bombs definitely fit in better with his specific kind of fight training.

The only bad thing? He found his eyes drawn to Kūkaku's... figure more often than usual. That slowed him down a little.

"Time's up!" Kūkaku called. "You're done, that's all the bombs you get for this activity,and we ain't even going to the Danger Shop for this one because you're bombs shouldn't be big enough to worry about, right? Because what we're gonna do today is a nice little game of Hot Potato."

She smirked, and now it probably is clear where the usual Kūkaku had been hiding. What could she say? She'd been inspired by earlier this week.

"Basically, it's a game of catch, but with a lit bomb. Pick a partner, light a bomb, pass it back and forth and try so you're not the one holding it when it goes off. If you do have it, you lose, you're out. Switch partners until there's a last man standing, or just keep going until ya run out of bombs, and whoever has the least Hot Potatoes goin' off in their hands wins."

"I'd demonstrate, but..." She grinned lifting her stub a little, "Wouldn't want you kids to feel too bad that I'd still do better'n you even with one arm. Have fun. An' seriously, any of those bombs actually hurt someone because someone thought they were too good for low impact, your ass is grass."

When she pings in!

Elle loved this class so fucking much, she really did. Probably a little too much, if the cheerful grin on her face was anything to go by.

Kūkaku will just be over here with her pipe, being amused as she watches the game. It was a strange, strange day, but at least she wasn't bored.
