Unconventional Tactics, Tuesday, Period 2
Once again, Reno was holding class in the Danger Shop, which had been programmed to look like your regular old Fandom Island street scene. He could have tossed you outside, but he wanted to limit the possibility of there being actual bystanders out there.
Which was probably a bad sign, right?
"Yo, Rookies," he said, leaning back against the front of Turtle and Canary with a crooked grin on his face. "Last week, we covered a little slice of life from the Support Services corner of the island's Reserves groups. This week, we're gonna cover a bit of what the fighters got to offer, yo."
He nodded back over his shoulder through the window of the store.
"Normally, I ain't gonna encourage looting, but this week we're gonna focus on usin' whatever the hell you got at your disposal in order to get the job done. Hate to do this to you powered kids, but this is gonna be a no-powers class again, yo. File inside the T&C here. You got five minutes to grab whatever you think you need before a flock of Griffins comes wheelin' in and tries to bust in the windows to tear you apart, yo. Why Griffins? They have the ability to drain magic, and they're resistant to any spells you might throw at 'em that'll slow 'em down, yo."
Reno liked to keep these things on an even playing field, yes. He'd find a way to even out the fighters next week when they covered magic, too.
"If you ain't a fighter, group together and get to work buildin' a barricade for these windows, because they'll make quick work of 'em. If you are a fighter, feel free to improvise up a weapon outta whatever's in here, yo. But make it good, because the pointiest shit you're gonna find in here is probably a set of kitchen knives."
Reno gave his hands a clap and then gestured toward the door. "Five minutes, Rookies. In you go."
[OCD up, in spite of LJ being laggy like a laggy website that lags! Open!]

Five Minutes And Counting!
... Looking for an adequate hiding place is also acceptable, but keep in mind that these things can fly, so hiding on the roof is probably not going to help you out.

Suddenly, Griffins!
Your five minutes are up, and there are eagle-lion hybrids clawing at the windows and snapping their beaks at you. If you're a fighter, guard that barricade with your improvised weapon! If you're not, for the love of Holy, get more crap to pile on! Keep those monsters out!
[And feel free to mod your Griffins, kids. Think of them like big, hungry lions. That fly.]

OOC
Griffins are moddable, too! They won't actually hurt you, since this is the danger shop, but it's not like Reno is going to tell you these things. He's nice that way, really.
True fact: I chose them because they're way more generic than the other things that I was considering for today, including but not limited to Bandersnatches, Blood Tastes, Ancient Dragons, and one big, nasty Behemoth.
The Behemoth would have been fun, but that might have made a few students pee themselves in terror, so he got the veto.
