Food Appreciation [Week 8, Period 4, Mon. 10/25]
There was a really simple reason the class met in the Danger Shop today: John wanted a damn taco. The class assembled on a busy California street. There were cars, people, and a glorious taco truck.
"Today we're eating out. Mexican food is as diverse as it is delicious. There's a thousand ways to make a taco and each one is as tasty as the last. Though honestly, I haven't had the time to try them all. Sure I could spend a class teaching you how to make a couple tasty types of tacos, but seriously, we're all here for the consumption." At least he was realistic about why kids showed up in his class. "This here is a taco truck. The beauty of America is that food isn't limited to a restaurant. Sure this truck looks like a mobile meth lab, and if you spot it in your neighborhood at 9pm on a Sunday night offering $40 tacos chances are you'll end up pretty popular, but the taco truck is about the food within, not the appeal of the stand."
John walked to the menu and gave the metal sign a tap. "So today you guys get to figure out themoddable menu of tacos and see if you can order something without getting laughed at for your pronunciation. Or, you know, find a friend to help you. Now, let's eat!"

Her second thought was that she could never tell certain people if she didn't want the Tank to turn into a cheap version of a food truck, and considering how many rides she had to take in that thing, it really wasn't worth it.

Of course she was butchering the pronunciation, but she didn't seem to care too much, so long as it got her delicious nom noms.

The hotter, the better too. Spicy foods were a favorite.

She was totally sure what she got wasn't it, it looked nothing like what she'd expected.
She was totally asking Jaime what LENGUA meant. Right after she got something that she actually was willing to eat.
