Study Hall -- Tuesday, October 25th

Sarah sits at the front desk occasionally glaring at the notebook and stack of papers at the far edge of the desktop. Instead of the constant scribbling she's been doing for days, she's got a deck of cards and is shuffling them over and over again out of boredom. She's horribly tempted to go out and play Texas Hold 'em with Locker 327, but she doesn't trust the fucking thing enough. Or, you know, at all.

Somehow managing to smirk without moving any facial muscles, Callisto inclined her head. "Sir has our thanks. Does this one have Sir's permission to sit and study?"

"Yes, you may," Angelus paused, realizing he hadn't bothered to think up a nickname for Callisto or at least one that could be said outside of, as for example, storage closets. When he thought of one the look in his eyes made it clear he was open to changing it if need be. "Uh, pet?"

Callisto's eyebrow may have briefly raised a fraction of a millimetre. That's the best he could come up with? Oh well, at least it's better than Blondie...

"Sir has Pet's thanks." In an utterly deadpan voice she continued "Where would Sir like Pet to sit?"

Angelus might have muttered something that sounded like "My lap." but then again he might have been clearing his throat.

"There," he said, pointing to a chair that was directly in front of him. "Where I can see you."

"As Sir wishes." Callisto inclined her head again, and sat in the indicated chair. Opening her books, she leaned over her notes. "Is this to Sir's liking?"

"Hum?" Angelus asked, in no way distracted by the view. "Oh, yeah, sure, fine. Hey are you actually doing homework or just faking it?"

[ooc: you expect him to be good with multiple syllables... well ever, but in the heat of the moment especially?]

Callisto looks up. "It would reflect badly on Sir if Pet did not keep up with her studies."

"Okay, good," Angelus said. "And have you been using Deb's?"

[ooc: Go! Sleep! It's way too late where you are!]

"Pet is grateful that Sir is taking such good care of her. Is there any way Pet might thank Sir properly?"

Angelus gave her a look that said You are giving me opening lines like that on purpose!

The look also indicated he didn't mind it as such, he was just making a silent observation.

In response Callisto merely looked at Angelus with amused "innocence".

"I knew there was a reason I liked you," he said, with a surprising lack of need to disclaim the words that had just come out of his mouth.

The corners of Callisto's mouth might have risen slightly at Angelus's words. "Pet is overjoyed that Sir feels that way. Hopefully Pet can give Sir other reasons to like her."

"And did my pet talk with her little friends?" Angelus asked.

"Pet has contacted them. They have been mostly unresponsive, but Pet believes Echolls may have potential."

Angelus rolled his eyes, the gesture clearly intended for the unresponsive types and not Callisto.

"You can see why some days it's all I can do to keep from staking myself, or them," he sighed. "But Logan's good, and probably looking for revenge. You could do worse."

"Pet sees Sir's point, and wishes there was some way she could help. Pet is also glad that Sir shares her view of Echolls."

"I suppose you could hold them down while I - " he mimed stabbing someone. Then he grinned, lest any recording cameras think he was serious besides why stab when neck-snapping was faster and required no tools? "And yeah. Big time. If anybody's likely to help, it'd be him. In hindsight I should've put him on your side anyway but oh well."

"Pet can be very good at pinning things down if need be." Again Callisto's eyebrow raises itself a fraction. "Pet would never question Sir's widsom, but she does wonder at his logic in pairing those two."

"Parker already knows how to be a master," Angelus said. "Figured she wouldn't get anything out of the assignment unless she wore a different hat. Logan..." for a moment it looked as though Angelus was debating how much to tell her. He shrugged. "Let's just say I figured Parker would need to be paired with somebody as stubborn as she was. Logan fit the bill."

Callisto holds up a finger and removes her badge.

"The bullheaded leading the mule stubborn?" She snickers, before replacing her badge and settling back into impassivity.

Angelus snickered. "Okay, in hindsight yes. But in my defense this was before I knew she was sick."

"Pet understands, although she humbly suggests that next time there be a rule about some form of health disclosure. Pet would also ask Sir's permission to find and speak with Echolls."

"I would agree with that rule, though we did try to accomodate everyone we knew about," Angelus gave a wave of his hand. "And yeah. Run off and find him now if you want. Fine by me."

"Pet thanks Sir for his permission." Pulling off her badge, Callisto continued. "I'll catch up with you later, Angelus."
