Demolition and Dynamite; Friday, Third Period [ 10/08 ].
"All right." Kūkaku started right into class today, not wanting to waste any time getting to the good stuff. "So,you've learned about making and using several different explosives so far, and, today, we're gonna learn how to take them apart and dismantle them before they blow things up."
"Some people say that the best way to stop a bomb is to prevent it from ever being built in the first place, but where's the fucking fun in that? Typically, this means removing the ability of the explosive elements to connect and cause an explosion. Timed bombs have the added bonus of trying to remember which wire to cut, which always seems to be a problem, especially if the bomb maker, like me, is exceptionally clever and never uses the same colour. And sometimes, really, the only way to do it is to just let the motherfucker go off, and try to reduce the damages as much as possible. Each bomb is going to be different, and the only way to really get a handle on it is to practise, so everybody up, to your feet, and to the Danger Shop!"
Once there, the students would find an impressive collection of bombs lined up, as well as a wall with white lab jackets hanging on hooks. Kūkaku, meanwhile, was hoisting into her hand a paintball gun with some very clearly inventive modifications.
"Grab a coat if you're a wuss," she said, "and then get to work. Now, if you fail, these aren't going to go off and blow off any limbs or noses or eyelashes, don't worry. But you will get a nice surprise."
And now we all knew what that red paint was for.
"And timing is of the essence with dismantling bombs, so, even though I hate these things, I've got a nice little pistol here filled with paint, so if I catch you lollygagging around, you'll get a nice little red blast to the butt. Gotta keep you on your toes."
Because stopping bombs from going off wasn't nervewracking enough.
"Go on, then, quit pissing around. I don't want to have to use this thing just to get you going. First ones are set to go off in fifteen minutes, but don't think that means you can take your sweet ass time."
