Student Council | Friday Lunchtime

Barney was thrilled for it to be that Friday once more. "Good job with the whole weekend of parents thing," he congratulated them once the reps had arrived. "Your next mission, should you choose to complete it - and if you don't you fail as a StuCo - is Homecoming." He let that sink in for a moment.

"Yes, that's right, we're once again letting the kids who left come back. Well, the successfully graduated. It's probably a bad plan, but there's funnel cake and short skirts, so I'm on board! Now, talk it out, make those decisions you kids are so into. Will there be Beiber or B.O.B.?"

"Nothing pink," Alex said, already making a face. "Way too girly."

"What's wrong with pink?" she objected, looking down at her, well, pink (and frilly) top and blue jeans.

... Ino liked pink, shut up. And Zack liked pink too, so ha.

"What 'bout greens and blues, maybe?"

Since she was determined to be productive.

"There are only three girls on the council, but we make up the majority of students," Quinn pointed out, hoping Rilla and Ino would back her up. "You're oppressing us by ruling out pink right off the bat."

Not that she especially liked pink as a theme. She was just in a mood to argue.

"Oppressing?" Alex repeated, raising an eyebrow. "You might be the majority of the students but you're also speaking for that majority right now. Who says all girls like pink?"

Alex could argue too. It was a hobby.

"Blues and greens are good. Anything theme wise we could match up with that?"

"I'd be surprised did all th'lasses agree on anythin'," George commented, adding to the argument for fun. "Don' they pride themselves on bein' difficult?"

"So cruel," she said, amused and rolling her eyes. "Like you guys aren't bein' deliberately difficult now?"

So was she, to be fair.

"Maybe an ocean theme or somethin' 'long those lines? That's got a lot of blue and green in it and can still have pink too."

Ha!

"I think oceans might work considering we are pretty surrounded by one," Alex said, nodding. He could deal with some pink as long as the dance didn't look like it was vomiting pink.

"As long as it's not an ocean of cotton candy or something," Jason said, making a face at the pink talk too.

"Yeah, let's avoid looking like a container of Pepto Bismol threw up all over Homecoming," Alex agreed.

Alexander really hadn't understood a word Mr. Stinson had said, and he was only vaguely able to follow the conversation thus far, too. Still, he would never avoid a chance to completely fail at playing mediator between two sides, which he'd noticed seemed to be male and female more often than not.

"Red," he offered lightly, "is a nice compromise, don't you think? Although not if we go with the ocean, because then that just leaves it appearing to be a sea of blood, and I do not think that is a theme anyone would want to go with."

Anyone who wasn't evil, anyway.

"Blue and green, with touches of red," Quinn mulled. "I don't hate it. Maybe we could do an aquarium mural or something."

"Wouldn't that be a bit dull?" she said, toying with a pen cap. They should be glad she wasn't nibbling on it. "Not very--Fandom-y as the idea is: pretty, you know? But I think it'd be fun to be more like Fandom--after all, ain't they comin' back to see Fandom?"
