There were, much to Ariel's disappointment, no cute ponies in Glee Club today, but there was sure to be lots of singing and fun, so she'd be content with that. There was a spread of a lot of fruits and drinks and cookies as before, and, of course, an incredibly bouncy leader.

"Welcome back, everyone! I'm not going to talk a lot so we can get to singing, but I'm throwing something at you guys real quick to get your thoughts on it. Sometime in November, our lovely Rinoa was thinking of putting together a concert for our awesome Jono's band, and I was thinking, if there's already a concert, we should totally put something together to perform! We'll have just enough time to decide on a song or two we could do, and put together a dance for it, and be ready to perform it for everyone! So, as we do some songs about our Parents' Weekend, also think about something you'd like to maybe perform in November. It's pretty much open for anything. If you think it, we can do it!"

"So grab some snacks and let's get started! Who wants to go first this week?"

Puck lingered a little while after, waiting to talk to Ariel specifically. Since, after all, he'd managed to talk to Ellie about the weekend, he didn't see why he couldn't try and get in some face time with the other person he'd specifically heard about Santana threatening with bodily harm.

Oh, good times.

"Heeeeeeey," he drawled, trying to look adorable. "How was your weekend?"

Stalling? Never.

Well, he at least managed to succeed in the looking adorable part, but Ariel, who had planned to track Puck down today and have a little chat with him anyway, was so not even buying the rest of it.

"Could have been better," she said, honestly enough through her sideways smirk. "How was yours?"

She wouldn't bring it up quite yet; she was curious to see how he would handle it himself.

"Kind of not great," he admitted, shoving his hands in his pockets. "Couple girls I know from my old school came to visit, including my ex, so...you know, craziness."

See? Understatement. Puck was great at understatement. (Not that he knew what understatement was, but still.)

"Funny," Ariel had to cough a little to keep the smirk from growing on her face. "She didn't seem much like an ex. Really charming, though."

Oh, the guilty look. "Santana has this problem," he said carefully. "Where she's sort of crazy? And possessive? We've been on-again, off-again since like, eighth grade, but she kind of doesn't accept breakups well."

He winced, and asked, "Just how charming?"

So charming, she made Ariel seem not-psycho.

"Does she honestly think that she can keep people from being interested in you from all the way over where you're from?" Ariel had to ask. "I mean, that would be impossible to do even if she was a student here, too."

"That's Santana," he said, sighing. "I mean, she's great, but she's also like, insane. I dunno what she told you, but we've been broken up since Hanukkah last year, before I came here. She's, uh, controlling. She did this with every girl I dated and even like, looked at back in Lima, too. So yeah, might be impossible, but I guess you saw how hard she tries."

"It's just a little disappointing," Ariel said with a shrug. "She seemed really great at first, but, then, snap, just like that, not so much. It's kind of a shame; she's even cute when she's not being..."

Insert universal twirl of the finger beside the head gesture.

"Dude, she's more than cute. She's super-hot, which is what makes the whole insanity thing kinda tolerable," Puck said, giving a little whistle.

Pause.

"...but not as pretty as you!" he added, giving her a sly little smile. "Plus, you're not crazy."

Not as crazy, anyway.

Classy, Puck.

Ariel shot him a smirk. "Nice cover."

"I try," he said, beaming at her. "Your weekend go okay aside from how Santana probably threatened to pull out your hair and use it to stuff her bra or something?"

"Ugh, no!" Ariel had to pull a face. "My weekend was terrible! My music tutor showed up and made me practice scales the whole time! He says he's..."

Here, she dropped her voice, leaning forward a little with the imitation of a Jamaican accent, "Afraid all dis silly Glee Club nonsense will ruin all his training!"

"...does he have dreads?" he wondered, eyes lighting up.

"No," Ariel couldn't help giggling. "He doesn't really have any hair at all."

"That's a missed opportunity," Puck said sadly.

Ariel tried to picture it, but, really, it was the sort of thing that would only reduce her to giggling.

"It really kind of is," she had to agree through the amusement, but she also had to reach over and use the good excuse to try to rub Puck's head. "But looks who's talking."

Puck inclined his head helpfully, since she was on the wee side and all. "Hey, I chose the most flattering hair for my lifestyle. If I had a sweet accent like that, I'd grow out my 'hawk and braid it up!"

"Then I'm glad you don't have an accent like that," said Ariel, beaming at the assistant and rubbing to her heart's content. "Because I've always liked your hair and it would just be weird if you sounded like Sebastian, anyway."

Pause.

"Super weird."
