Parkour Club - Godiva Street, Tuesday After Classes

More accurately, they were at the back of one of the empty buildings along Godiva Street. "Hey, welcome back. This seemed like a good place to get some basic moves in. Most of the time you don't get a choice about what moves you do. You have to adapt to whatever's around you and go with that. But there are some things you're going to have to learn how to do if you're going to be up pretty high. Learn to fall, then when you can do that, learn to not fall. It's up to you where you think you are skill-wise. No one can tell you otherwise."

Falling Practice

Kyle showed the proper ways to fall from standing position, then from a little higher off a dumpster and then off a fire escape. The places were set up for people to practice and spot each other.

Before he practiced falling -- which he was going to, because he seemed to need it -- Kurt waved to get everyone's attention.

"One more thing to add, if it's okay?" he announced. "If you are falling from too high and I'm nearby, try yelling for me. I am not Uberman, but if I hear you maybe I can come save you."

Bruce took a few falls, then started trying to see how he might fall in a way that let him get up more quickly. What? It would be imprtant someday.

Not Falling Practice

This was mostly balance work, walking along a straight line or jumping from one platform to another. There were a few big crates Kyle had set up for low-height jumping practice and a long piece of timber to practice low-height balance practice. As for high level? Well, there was a ladder up to the rooftop.

Not falling was the very best part, and George was not falling as much as he possibly could over and over and over again.

Bruce had much better balance than might be assumed from how he was built. As such, he was pretty darn good at not falling.
