The Club Fair - Gym - Friday Afternoon 9/24/10

To be perfectly honest, Blackagar wasn't sure how he ended up being in the gym this afternoon. Let alone being one of the first people there.

But that was just how life worked sometimes.

Plus, it gave him a chance to look over the new clubs first! Score for him.

"Oh! I didn't know you had a boyfriend!" said Ariel, who, despite having a sort-of boyfriend now all her own (and after Wednesday, she was definitely convinced that there was no way Bruce could be anything but a sort-of boyfriend), felt a little relieved by that. It just seemed to take out at least one complicated element, although, just like her theory on Quinn not hating her after all, that relief was probably very naive.

"I think that'd be great, then! You guess can compare notes and performances and talk to each other about that in common! That'd be so cool! What's your boyfriend's name? Is he cute? Well, I mean, of course he'd be cute, if he's your boyfriend, right?"

Though she was a little surprised how genuinely enthused Ariel seemed to be, Quinn skipped over about how glee was about the dorkiest thing she could imagine. It wouldn't serve to ingratiate herself into the club at all.

"His name is Finn," she answered, pulling out her phone so Ariel could see the photo of him in full quarterback gear Quinn had as her wallpaper. "We've been together about five months. It's kind of a big deal."

She smiled a bit, as she usually did when she looked at Finn's photo. He was very attractive. "What do you think?"

"Five months," Ariel agreed, "is definitely a big deal."

And she could tell by that smile that Quinn thought so, too, and that was just adorable, really.

"And he is cute, if you don't mind me saying so! He look tall, but that might just be the football uniform."

"No, he's very tall," Quinn said. "He's a few inches taller than Puck. Basically, he's a giant."

"And I don't mind you saying it at all. He's in Ohio, anyhow." Ariel was pretty, but she didn't think Ariel could steal boyfriends from 500 miles away. "Are you seeing anyone?"

Stealing boyfriends wasn't really part of Ariel's repertoire, anyway. Boyfriends were off limits. It was when they weren't officially boyfriends that things got a little more acceptable...And Finn looked cute, sure, but he hardly seemed Ariel's type. A little on the dorkier side, not that she'd say that to Quinn.

Her shoulders lifted in a shrug. "Sort of," she said, realizing it was the first thing she'd really said anything to that end and couldn't help grinning as she did so. "I mean, nothing official or anything like that. I think we're mostly comfortable in being flexible in our relationship at this point in time."

So that meant Ariel put out without being serious. Well. She couldn't say she was surprised, all things considered.

"Good luck with that," she said. "Who's the lucky guy?"

Ariel bit her lip a little, her cheeks flushing a little since she didn't know all of what she should say. It wasn't as if they'd actually even talked about it yet at all, but, at the same time, considering the events of the last week and the little flutter in her chest just thinking about it...

..She hadn't even really told Rinoa or Rilla yet about the sort-of status! But that was all before the private jet and daring escapes from aquariums.

"His name's Bruce Wayne," she said, feeling a bit of a tremble up her spine that made her bite her lip again. "Have you met him?"

To be fair, there was absolutely nothing between Quinn and Bruce. She had a boyfriend, and they'd only talked a handful of times, and if there had been flirting -- well, she flirted with a lot of people, just for the practice. If she liked Bruce a little more than most of them, it wasn't as if she'd gone out of her way to make that clear.

But between Puck and Bruce, she was feeling irrationally territorial all around. Her smile was really a baring of her teeth.

"I have," she said briskly. "He's a nice guy. Cute. Congratulations."

She reached for a pen, slashing down her name. "I'll see you at the meeting."
