The Club Fair - Gym - Friday Afternoon 9/24/10

To be perfectly honest, Blackagar wasn't sure how he ended up being in the gym this afternoon. Let alone being one of the first people there.

But that was just how life worked sometimes.

Plus, it gave him a chance to look over the new clubs first! Score for him.

"Well, you could think of it like that!" Ariel said with a laugh after a moment to consider Raven's interpretation of the title. "Especially if that's what you get from music; I know I do. And you wouldn't have to know! Maybe you'll learn a lot about them just by being in the club!"

"I like music very much; it is so filled with emotion," Raven said. "I have only sang once before though, when Fandom compelled me to do so." And she'd thoroughly embarrassed herself by singing "Wind Beneath my Wings" to Anakin.

"Well, that's okay!" said Ariel, waving a hand. "I bet it was really great, too, and it's even more fun when you choose to do it, you know?"

"If I do not do it well, will you teach me?" Raven asked. She liked the idea of the club, but she was hesitant to do something that would embarrass herself.

"Oh, of course!" Ariel said, finding the prospect really exciting. Not that she wanted Raven to be bad at singing, but she bet she could teach someone about music! How many classes had she sat through with Sebastian? If he could do it, she could, too. "I'd love to! I've had loads of musical training, and, to be completely honest, I love getting people to sing, too. I just think life's better with music; it's just been so big in my life ever since I was little."

"When I was made to sing before, it was upsetting because I was still attempting to deny my emotions," Raven said, smiling. "But now I think I would like the opportunity to learn to express myself that way."

"Yeah, singing works best to express emotion, not suppress them," Ariel agreed with a nod. "You'll see! But now I have to admit I'm a little curious about the last time, but if it was upsetting, I won't ask. I just hope that there'll be nothing upsetting about Glee Club and, if there is, that you're able to get it out in song!"

"It was only upsetting because I was afraid of emotions at the time," Raven assured her. "I went to Professor Skywalker's office and told him that he was the wind beneath my wings." She blushed at the memory.

Ariel wondered if this was a good time to mention about Skywalker co-advising, but decided mostly against it. Mostly because the rest of it was so interesting.

"Did you really?" she asked, going a bit wide-eyed with intrigue. "And did you really feel that way?"

"The sentiments of the song were correct," Raven said, nodding. "Because it was only with his guidance that I was able to embrace my own emotions and shield myself from those around me. So in that way he is indeed my hero."

"....awwwwwwww," Ariel couldn't help wilting a little with a pleased smile at such a touching story. "That's so sweet! You seem much more comfortable about the idea of it now, too!"

And now she was feeling particularly glad Raven would be joining the club with Master Skywalker as one of the advisors!

She'd probably be delighted but also more self-conscious at the idea of Anakin being there. It'd balance out.

"I am not as afraid of my emotions anymore," Raven said. "Leaning new ways to express them would be very helpful for me, as long as I do it correctly."
