Boom-De-Yada Science - Danger Shop, Wednesday, Period 1 [Week 3]

The Doctor didn't say hello today. Very rude of him. Instead, he launched into a lecture about why the sky was blue, the different types of clouds and the layers of Earth's atmosphere.

The important part was that while this was going on, they were all standing on a vast field of clouds. Yes, up in the sky. "Now," he said once he talked non-stop without allowing interruptions (anyone who tried got a single finger - no, not that one - pointed at them to shush them while he prattled on about the topic at hand), "you might notice we're standing on clouds. They're not normally solid, so don't try this at home. The Danger Shop has been reprogrammed so that the clouds are solid and bouncy." He bounced up and down to demonstrate. It was like a gigantic outdoor trampoline only fluffy and soft. "You won't fall through. Try not to run into the invisible walls." They were still there, after all, even though they couldn't be seen.

And with that, he started bouncing around.

Having given up on her cloud-man project, Claudia was instead lying on her back, enjoying the odd vibrations of everyone else bouncing around.

And there was Peter, lying down next to her.

"I think this is the real way to enjoy this," he said. "Smart plan."

"I always used to get yelled at for doing this on bouncy castles," Claudia confided.

"Well, I guess in those times, they're worried someone's going to bounce on top of you," Peter said. "Bouncy feet to the face is never a good way to enjoy the day, I think."

"Yes, but they underestimated my ability to roll."

"Well, no one here is underestimating your ability to roll," Peter said with a smile. "And if I see anyone errantly bouncing, I will do my best to do that macho thing and try and save you or something."

"That'd be very gallant of you," Claudia decided. "Would it hurt your pride if I say the same?"

"Hey, just because I'm from the past doesn't mean I don't believe in equality of the sexes," Peter said. "I will have no wounded pride, promise."

"Past, nothing. There's totally modern guys who'd be all 'nooo, can't have a girl saving me'." Claudia looked over at him and smiled. "Good to know you're more enlightened."

Claudia was not having bouncy fun. CLEARLY this needed to be remedied.

Kurt had bounced extremely high, and on his descent he aimed for a patch of cloud a few feet from Claudia's head. "GERONIMOOOOOOOOO!!!"

Claudia bounced up into the air, flailing. She laughed as she landed. "Kurt, what the hell?"

"You weren't BOUNCING!!!" Kurt admonished her with a grin. "You're DOING it wrong!!!"

Claudia snorted. "Says you! This way I can bounce without doing any of the work."

Kurt tsk-tsked and wagged a finger at her. "It's less fuu~uun!"
