Around the World in 15 Weeks [Monday, Period Three]

Bond had, through a quite unlikely and complex set of random circumstances, managed to delete today's simulation five minutes before the start of class. Luckily, he did have some skill at improvising.

"Good morning class," he began. "You can gain a great deal of insight into other cultures, and your own, by examining various instances of art and popular culture they produce. These provide a window into how members of a culture view themselves, and what values they claim to hold dear. This is especially true of the ones that become popular or are considered cultural touchstones. Which is why we're going to watching an award winning Australian film, while you watch I want you to consider what values it suggests that the Australian people hold dear."

Alexander, admittedly, still hadn't warmed up that much to the concept of television; it was mostly due to disappointment that, unlike a magic mirror, the images and scenes depicted within were mostly fiction and not real.

This experience was not likely going to help change his mind, no. He was trying to be open-minded and understanding of different cultures, but, even as a boy in puffy sleeves, this was all a bit much for a small kingdom prince who used to be an isolated slave to comprehend.

As the befuddled, brow-furrowed expression on his face throughout nearly the entire thing might have suggested.

Tara tried to think deep thoughts about the Australian people. She really did. It wasn't her fault the eye candy in the movie was so distracting.

The movie was...interesting. Deep thoughts indeed. She was also wondering if she could find that movie in her own world.

Deep, deeeeeeep thoughts.

Kyle was indeed here! He was also watching the movie and thinking that the accents were weird, the clothes were weirder and the landscape looked pretty damned inhospitable. This, from the boy who grew up in the ruins of post-apocalyptic LA.
