Duncan starts the class with stretching and warm ups, moving everyone out to the track for endurance runs. He seems somewhat preoccupied today.

"What? No more Mr. Peppy?"

He grins. "Oh, don't worry, I still have plenty of energy. Here's hoping you do too." He jogs a few steps.

"I wasn't talking about the energy," Jack jogs in place with the teacher, "I was talking about the super-happy make-me-wanna-vomit attitude."

Duncan's eyebrows go up. "Other people being happy makes you want to puke? Nice attitude, that."

"Usualy it only makes me naseous but that?" Jack points backwards as if to gesture to the past. "That wasn't being happy, that would've made Marry Poppins beat you with her umbrela."

Duncan chuckles. "Well, she could try." He seems privately amused by the idea of being beaten to death.

"Come on, fess up. Who finally managed to make you stop?"

"Just got things on my mind." He looks over. "Who made you so cynical?" His tone is more curious than truly sharp.

"Practice. Lots and lots of practice." Jack smiles despite himself. "Anything you wanna bitch about?"

"Nah. Not bad things. Old friend in town that I need to look up when I get some time."

"An old friend or and old friend?"

He chuckles. (see below--OOC, can't remember the song title)

He finds himself whistling a song to which the lyrics are, in part, "a friend with breasts and all the rest, a friend who's dressed in leather..."

Jack just. Stares.

"Okay. Friend friend it is."

Duncan realizes what he's been whistling and cough a bit.

Jack continues to stare.

Duncan jogs faster in the hope of not talking himself in any deeper.

*jogs up next to Jack* Hey there! Rory loved her present!

*Stare* *Blinks*

Huh? Oh, really? That's great, sorry I couldn't make it to the party I was exhausted. I'm not sure how I actually managed to even get to my room.

Kawalsky was tired by the time gym came around, so he didn't push himself as hard he would have liked. Maybe he'd do better next time.

"You doing okay, Charlie?" Duncan looks him over, concerned. "If you aren't feeling well, walk it."

"I didn't sleep last night, Coach. That's all. I'll do okay, just not as good as I'd like, y'know?"

"Don't worry about it. We all have off days."

"Yeah. Thanks, Coach. I hear there's a hockey rink opening up in town. Is it okay if I go down and talk to the owner about maybe getting us some real rink time and a regular time for games?"

"That would be *great*! Thank you."

"Cool. I figure if I get in early, show some enthusiasm, show whoever's running the place that we'll be regular customers then maybe we can get some kind of deal, or at least having a healthy relationship so we've always got somewhere to play. I'll let you know how it goes, Coach."

*Running is something she can do, and do very well.*
