Keeping Your Advantage: Terrain and You, Week VI [Monday, Period 1]

The students had received ~~hadwavey~~ notice that class would meet in a classroom, instead of the Danger Shop. Ghanima didn't want to be around any more fancy technology today.

And if she was doing an internal head-count as her students arrived, well, she doubted anyone would blame her.

The classroom itself had been transformed; no desks, large pillows and blankets, and juice and hot tea on the one remaining table. Anyone who had taken any of Ghanima's classes before knew that this meant Movie Day.

"Sometimes, you find yourself in an unknown situation, forced to rely upon allies that you barely know," she began gently, as the last student arrived. "You can either resent this, or make the best of it. You won't always be the one who knows the terrain best, who is familiar with the environment, but you can always find someone who is."

"Watch the film, get some sleep, or go to the clinic if you have not already been checked out by a healer of some sort."

Get something to drink, nap, huddle with your friends, or go to the clinic. Ghanima isn't expecting strict attention today.

Cassidy was here, but she was a little more pensive than usual. She was glad that Lady Ghanima was letting them have an easy day of it because she was still trying to process everything that had happened.

She grabbed a cup of hot tea and then sat down with a blanket wrapped around her shoulders. She may or may not have been paying some attention to the movie.

Ben was cuddling a cup of tea close to his body (because caffeine was just as good as sleeping, okay) and staring off into space in the general direction of the movie.

After three years at this school, Ghanima recognized Skywalker/Solo/Jedi Clan Trauma Repression Syndrome when she saw it.

She simply picked up one of the unused blankets and draped it gently over Ben's shoulders, letting one hand linger on his back for a moment before preparing to move on to the next student.

Ben flashed her a quick smile and a pulse of appreciation through the Force in reply.

Asuna was glad Ghanima-sensei was understanding today. She was so sore and sleepy. She put her head on the desk and slept.

Ghanima stifled a smile at how quickly Miss Kagurazaka fell asleep, and placed one of the blankets over the girl.

Katniss took some tea before curling up. She didn't sleep, but she did gratefully sip her tea and tried to concentrate on the movie. It was more welcome than what she could see in her head lately.

Lion-o almost felt like a young cub, sipping his juice while watching a movie. That didn't mean he enjoyed it any less.

She's around, before and after class.

Cara remained behind after class. "Professor Atreides?"

"Yes, Cara?" Ghanima asked. "What may I do for you?"

Cara kept her tone and posture as respectfully neutral as possible, which admittedly was something of an effort. "I apologise for missing the last two weeks of classes." Since 'I fell down a hole and couldn't get out' wouldn't have counted as a reasonable excuse among the Mord'Sith, she didn't bother offering it up.

Irulan lurked outside of Ghanima's class. She wanted a glimpse of Ghanima, drinking in the sight of her stepdaughter, very glad that she was here.

Ghanima's fingers flashed at Irulan in the Bene Gesserit sign language, even as she carefully watched over her charges.

You may come in, Stepmother. The movie is all ages, you don't have to pretend not to watch it.

Ghani thought she was funny.

That put a smile on Irulan's lips and entered the classroom, replying:

You know me and my sensibilities, stepdaughter.

I woke up today CONVINCED that I got to leave for mini-vacation on Friday. I was shattered to get to work and realize I dreamed the last week.

Aww. That's a horrible trick that your mind played on you.

IT IS. So not fair!

And I totally get to leave for mini-vacation on Friday! I think! I shall do vacation-like things in your honour!

I need to prod you somewhere about next Monday and things, zomg.
