Leadership for Social Change, Class 4, Period 7

"Hey, everyone." Dinah waved from the front of the class, looking mildly confused. "Dr. Horrible's texted me that he can't get to class today." [There had been an incident with a Sticky Ray that had a few bugs still in the system. Not that Dinah knew that.] "But he sent me the lesson plan. So apparently like last week's design of your, uh, secret lair, this week? You're working on your 'tools of leadership.'"

She pointed to the computers with various design programs, art supplies, Legos, and various arts-and-crafts extras on the tables.

"He says here 'anything that will assist you in enlightening the masses, transport you quickly to your destinations, protect you from fascist authorities who don't appreciate your genius, and that has a remote control or requires you to wear a gas mask.'" She paused and added, "And if it explodes, I'm sure he'll be thrilled."

Like your Freeze Ray is broken!

And if anyone starts throwing bat-a-rangs or similar around, just make sure no one's eye gets poked out.

There's stuff to design secret weapons, cars, boats, planes, and super-rays, as well as build tiny models of the real thing. Or work out the specs for your laughing gas.

Explain what your Secret Weapon does and why you need it for Leadership purposes.

Who's considering drawing up a new costume for herself for when she gets to New Gotham.

"So, do we really need to do the assignment, or do you think we can just say that we did and leave?" Jason asked, giving Dinah a sweet smile.

Dinah smirked at him, amused. "You've got somewhere better to be?"

Emma had lingered in London as long as she could manage, before catching a portal back late this afternoon just for this class.

Honestly, she could have stayed an extra day on vacation.

Still, Emma dutifully started doodling up her dream limo, complete with chilled champagne, leather seats, and a very intimidating driver.

"Anywhere that's not class would probably be better," Jason pointed out. "This doesn't seem like an important assignment in the long run."

"Welllll, it's not like I'm going to tackle you if you leave. I think that goes beyond the definition of TA-Minion," Dinah admitted. "But as a leadership exercise, how are you going to bribe me not to say anything?"

Coffee or chocolate! Coffee or chocolate!... maybe she *was* getting corrupted by hanging out with Dr. Horrible.

Jason considered the question for a moment. "Well, how would you like to be bribed? There are a lot of different options I'm willing to consider."

"Coffee, chocolate, or some combination?" Dinah offered, grinning. "I'm sadly not up to the whole buy-me-a-Freeze-Ray level that Dr. Horrible," Heh. "Would probably approve of."

"Chocolate, I can do. Maybe even chocolate flavored coffee," Jason said. "I don't think I could afford a Freeze Ray. Anyone I know who'd have one of those would want way too much for it."

"Anyone I know who'd have one of those would shoot at you for trying to get at it, too," Dinah joked back, then wrinkled her nose, grinning. "I'm Dinah, by the way. Lance. If you're going to be my temporary minion, you should know that."

"I'm Jason," he said. "Jason Todd. I think minion-in-training might be better."

Ahahahahahaha. Dinah managed not to snort with giggles, but who knew what her face gave away. "Hi!" Calmer, Dinah. "--Tim Drake mentioned you. That you were from Gotham too. Uh. New Gotham, in my case."

"Oh cool!" Jason said, although he had to wonder what exactly Tim had said that made her look at him like that. "It's awesome having so many people from Gotham around. I think I lucked out, getting Tim as my roommate."

"It is," Dinah nodded, amusement locked away in a little mental Pandora's Box for the moment. "And you've met Bruce, right? Wayne?"

Because if he hadn't yet, that was gonna be another ohmigod! kind of shock.

Jenny Sparks

"I've seen him, but I haven't really talked to him," Jason admitted. "My--the Bruce Wayne I know of is an adult, so it's weird that he's our age here, you know?"

"Oh yes," Dinah said vehemently. "I mean. He's way old back where I'm from. Fifty or so, I think." If he was still alive. "But he's pretty cool, here." She grinned a little, folding her arms. "And this place is almost as weird as Gotham is, so it's fun to meet people who'll probably adjust okay."
